If they flat out banned and waved a magic wand and removed all rifles of all kinds in the USA, they would only save 323 who were killed by a bullet fired from a long gun.

According to this:

Actually they wouldn't save 1. Methodology would change to another option. Same thing with suicides.
Hell, some teenager in the UK was killed by a gang with swords a few weeks ago.

American doesn't have gun problem. It doesn't have a gang problem, or a drug problem, an obesity problem, drunk driving problem, or an unwed teenage mothers problem. America has a responsibility problem. When we as a society can figure out how to collectively be a responsible people, we will see these problem go away.

Please note, not everybody has a responsibility problem. In fact IMHO people here are part of the solution not the problem.

Really? I have searched high and low for the FBI stats. Didn't find them on this site. I've been digging for days on the fbi site for this info.
Apologies.

I'm glad you (re)posted it. I've looked on the FBI page for longer than I'd like to admit for these stats.

Dave Kopel wrote a great piece on the folly of gun control as a means of making the world a saver place several years ago.

Imagine a world without guns. (http://old.nationalreview.com/kopel/kopel120501.shtml)

Guns Go Away, other means of delivering death & mayhem will take it's place. History doesn't mention anything about how peaceful earlier homosapien was.
Firearms were invented, then refined as time went on to give team A an advantage over teams B-Z.
A has clubs, b-z have spears, A makes bow & arrow, b-z develop the catapult, and on n on n on.
Knives are against the law, or in que in GB. Hell defend yourself an you become the criminal.
Total subjugation of the people has no limits and those who support it have only sped up the time frame, with O's re-election.

with all the talk about what bullets do to a person, I'm curious if they ever put much thought into what a 2 inch broad head does

All this talk about the damage from an AR, why doesn't ANYONE mention bolt action 30-06 or better, and the damage it can cause to flesh. They make it sound as if the AR is the do-all kill-all of guns, "high power" Military grade, my God, it doesn't compare to what a 30-30, 30-06 or any other "hunting" caliber will do to flesh. It's total ignorance.

If they did they would loose the support of HUNTERS AND SPORTSMEN You know Reasonable Gun Owners. Boy are they in for a rude awakening.

Are you looking for something specfic? There is a lot of data there in a pretty good level of detail.
