What items do you have in your Bug Out Bag? How many and what types of BOB's do you have and are they situational?

Bug Out Bag? Filled with ammo, gold coins, chocolate and water? Ohhhhhkay.

I've got a number of filled magazines in an ammo can out in the garage ready to go.

I keep basic winter survival supplies in the car along with a first aid kit.

I've got a case of MRE's in the closet, and some candles, for emergencies.

But a bug-out bag? Got your zombie repellent?

With such huge advances in todays level of technology, I consider a bumper dumper to be a manditory BOB item.

Haha, i built a bumper dumper a few years ago. My truck was too high and I didn't feel comfortable having my legs swing in the air.

Yeah, nothing ruins a good "on the lam" dump like your own turd hitting you in the ankle. +1 on the drop hitch so you can plant your feet.

I have a small duffel bag that I keep in the closet. Usualy there is all my basic camping supplies in it(warm clothes, gloves, hat, small tent, small sleeping bag, first aid kit... yada yada...), and sitting next to it is my gun safe, and next to that is a 20mm ammo can filled with loaded mags for my AR, stripper clips for the 30-06, and a few boxes of 9mm and 45. sitting next to that is my old military stuff mostly in/on an alice pack. I have a gas mask and some extra canisters, mopp suit if i really need it, an old k-pot and PASGT vest. all the other usual military loadout is in the pack too... other than that, i dont really have too much. there are some "choice" items in the camping gear that not everybody carries like a water purifier and lexan flatware. I like to think I am prepared, and not being paranoid, but i know there will be things I will kick myself for not brining if I ever do need to bug out! And its not like i have all that sitting there waiting for a disaster, its just where it is stored! the ammo gets shot and replaced, and the duffel full of camping gear comes out every few weeks during the summer!

Heres a couple list I have found for what to put in it!

Enough food and water to last for seventy two hours. This includes:
4 litres (1 gallon) of water per person per day, for washing, drinking and cooking.
spoil-free food.
Water purification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_purification) supplies.
cooking supplies.
cutlery and cups/dishes.
A first aid kit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_aid_kit).
A disaster plan including location of emergency centers (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Emergency_center&action=edit&redlink=1), rallying points, possible evacuation routes etc.
Professional emergency literature explaining what to do in various types of disaster, studied and understood before the actual disaster but kept for reference.
Maps and travel information.
Standard camping equipment, including sanitation supplies.
Clothes and bedding.
Enough medicine to last an extended evacuation period if, for example, one's home were destroyed.
Pet, child and elderly care needs.
Radio.
Lighting (battery or crank operated torch/flashlight(S), Glow sticks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glow_stick)).
Firearm(s) and appropriate ammunition.
Crowbar.
Cash, as electronic banking transactions may not be available during the inital period following an emergency or evacuation.

Or you just hopped up on your bumper dumper and someone impatient that just can't wait a couple minutes comes along the trail. Really guys you need to pull fully off the road to use these things.

get a drop hitch !!!

Oh come on! No one else sees the irony/humor of using a "drop" hitch? Maybe my wife is right and I am immature. Naw!

I don't have a BOB put together yet. Been "planning" to prep my camper/etc loaded and prepped for some time. My best friend keeps sending me web links to sites to get me moving on my BOB - he's got his all made.
