Haven't seen this on here, imagine if a politician actually stood up and said what they believe instead of what they thought would get them elected?

Too many young people in this country don't understand what made this country... It wasn't handouts from the government, being jealous of successful or smart. It was knowing that if they worked hard, anything was within their reach, and having the drive to take risks, and work hard, and yes, fail. But then knowing even if they didn't succeed, they could stand up and try again, and most importantly that they had the DRIVE to stand up again.

None of this I lost my job so now I need 2 years of unemployment benefits, and help retraining, and the feeling that I deserve to start at the same place I was, and I have a lower paying job so I deserve to pay no taxes, but the rich have more than enough, so I'd like some of what they worked for... It was get off your ass, find some way to make ends meet, and figure out how to achieve what I want! That is why this WAS the greatest country on Earth. We are well on our way to being Greece now... The scary thing is, I don't know if there is any way someone with the balls to see what is truely happening could make a change, they would get buried by the media...

i showed this video in presentation i had yesterday about becoming activist to my class. The teacher shut it off after he said "fuck" and i got suspended for one day (today). that again just proves the point of the video...

The speech is from the HBO show "The Newsroom" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1870479/?ref_=sr_1)
And, since HBAR hasn't chimed in yet...

I was suckered into watching that series because of this speech when Irving posted it before. It gets progressively more Liberal as the series goes on until they're throwing jab after jab at the TEA party and "debunking" every negative thing anyone has ever said about Obama for the duration of every episode. It was like watching a train wreck, and I was sick by the end of it. Good speech though.

Really!? Dammit... and here I was going to download it just because of that speech... Well, nevermind. Thanks for the head's up!

That was inspiring, and a very scary look in the mirror. And yes, we are running full speed at becoming the next Greece.
