i guess people in Alaska dont like guns. I mean otherwise how do you explain there being guns left on the racks?
Cause each member of the family already has "one of those".

Can you imagine how much more expensive ammo is up there? I bet $1.00/round for .223 is a damn good deal up in those parts.
Edit: Looks like that's all shotgun ammo that's gone. The stuff down on the end of the rack looks like rifle ammo and there appears to be plenty of that.

Prices there on ammo is about the same as here. Last summer they had the 420rnd packs of m855 for $159, cheaper than I could find here at a sportsmans.
looks like they dont have much ammo either

I love Alaska. The Anchorage airport has a store inside security that sells 5.11 gear and other tacticool stuff.

ah, like the good old days in the lower 48. i remember WM used to stock some really nice guns. Browning Auto5s, A-Bolts, Remington 700ADL and BDL, tons of Rugers. 1911s, the works. sure, there were some single shot new england shotguns in there, but they alot of really nice guns. not dozens of kinds of handguns, but plenty to chose from.

I'll be back in June, another wedding. Figured since I was there I might as well try and get me a black bear with the 9" 300 blk, suppressed of course. And if I can't bring my mags I'll have about 60 pmags to choose from there. :)

If I could find work there and convince the wife, I think I would go.

don't know if you've heard- it's kinda a BIG place... Like Texans shouldn't brag, or they'll divide Alaska in 2 and Texas will become the 3rd largest state big. [Coffee]

They seem to be somewhat insulated from the shortages (so many guns, so few people maybe). Next to all those gun counters is a map of the U.S. with all the states that are allowed to buy in AK, CO is not one of them :(
