View Full Version : Arapahoe County Fairgrounds Gun Show
This show does not do much advertising and I don't hear much about it. It normally comes and goes and I don't even know they had the show.
Does anyone go to this and if so how is it? I looked it up on the web and cut and pasted the following info for others that don't know of the show and are thinking of going. The link also has a discount coupon. Admission is $8 for both days before the coupon.

This show is small. If you want to be able to walk around this is the show. Selection is not the best. They had quite a bit of ammo when I was there. Pretty low key show.
Thanks. I live 5 minutes away. I'll check it out and report back. Not expecting much, but you never know.

IMO Small with typical panic pricing...unless you are within 20 min and bored I'd save the $8.

I live near Southlands Mall. A meet up over a cup of coffee to shoot the breeze sounds great.

Been to a few PEshows, they are like Tanner lite. Panic prices, but less competition to keep them from negotiating. Ammo Kan usually heads to them, so if you need some ammo at higher, but not BOHICA prices then you should check one of the shows out.
Why do we need a gun show to meet up? I live near Tower and Hampden and Southlands is a short drive if people wanted to get an Aurora meeting together.
Picked up an immaculate FEG HiPo clone from one of those guys for $360. Honestly, not a bad deal to me. They were asking $400, so I don't feel awful. Other than that, too many panic-mongering shit-eaters.
I live in that gangstas paradise apartment complex off Smokey Hill and Versailles across the 470 from the Southlands Mall. I'm down for meetups.
Usually there are one or two hidden gems here if you look (and you have to look pretty hard, because it's usually pretty slim). You can usually walk around and browse unmolested, but...not this past weekend. I have never been to a PE show (or any other at the ArapCO fairgrounds) that was this crowded.
Wasn't even fun. Walked it quick and got out. Will give it a few months before I go back.

I'm right by you near Canyon Creek school. That's the apartment complex where they picked up Najibullaj Zazi. I was coming home when I saw SWAT and Feds all over they place.

Tawm, did you get that FEG from the CA guys? Second row from the south side... Just wondering; that's the only table I remember seeing a near minty FEG. I picked up an Inglis Hi-power at that table for $350. I was also looking at the M1 Carbines he had: two National Ord POS's (he wanted $900 for one of 'em) and one Universal in a cracked folder stock. It wasn't a big show, but I was bored and hoped to find a few things like M1 Carbine mags and ammo. Anyway, greetings neighbors: I'm just near Quincy and Reservoir.
Yeah it was those fellas. That HiPo looked BEAT compared to the FEG I picked up. The guy and I BS'ed for a while and he showed me his SA58 pistol that looked insane. As a trust owner, I asked him why he didn't submit the Form 1 for it and he scoffed at the idea. But yeah that was the only deal I saw at all. I will never buy from those Ammo-Kan guys. I bought a 1000 round batch of 9mm from them a long time ago and regardless of handgun used, I've had constant FTEs with that batch. No bueno.

Anyone up for a meet up at the Smoky Hills and Himalaya Starbucks on Saturday? Early morning is the best.

Yeah, there's usually at least one or two cops at one building there or other. The new management there seems to be going the right direction. They kicked out the Section 8 leeches that were stinking up the place. And evidently Najibullah lived in my building. I'm an active-duty Marine and some of the residents seem to think I'm living there because he once lived there--protecting their freedom to sell drugs out of their front porch and attract riff-raff or some-such.

How early? 8 would be about the earliest I'd be up and running on a Saturday I don't have to work on.

8 is good.
I'm coming back into town on Sunday and continuing leave if anyone is down for going shooting, etc on a weekday.

If anyone wants to meet up, Dave and I are meeting up at the Smoky Hill and Himalaya Starbucks on Saturday at 9 AM. All are welcome.
Sounds good. It'll be interesting to see what the weather does Friday night. I'll be there.

Here Coors hat
Went to the latest one and was impressed. It was small enough to let you browse and see everything in order to make a purchase decision or make a trade. But also just big enough to offer a fairly wide selection. Got a great deal from Ammo Kan's table on .40 S&W ammo. And was able to acquire 10 Pmags in a decent trade.
