Just received this from a friend and couldn't locate any related posts:

First it was baby formula, then pet food, but now you should watch out when buying anything from China , including bright, shiny ammunition.
A guy came into the police department the other day to ask a favor. He had an S&W 629 (.44 Mag) that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range. He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new ammo (Chinese made), and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared from around his head, the pictures show what he saw.
Bet he never uses Chinese made ammo again!

Looks like when the round in the chamber went off, it also set off at least two other rounds in adjacent cylinders. I would have hated to been the one that pulled the trigger on that one!

A really good reason for not buying cheap ammunition or anything from China.
They are proving the statement “You get what you pay for” to be true.

Losing a nice revolver and visiting the ER just to save a few bucks on ammo ... yeah, that was a good call ...

On the other hand, he's lucky all he got was a gash.

That's an old story that has been floating around the net for a few years now.

That revolver was made post 02, and we banned chinese ammo in 1993, so I'm not buying it.

Did that revolver blow up with hand loads...or wait, wasn't it over pressured. Or was it an emp set off causing a start in 3 of the rounds and the gun blew.l.or was it that the timing was off because they took it to a shady gunsmith that didn't know what he was doing.

The explanation on Vince Lewis makes more sense than what I was sent. I hadn't seen this story or these pictures before but I haven't really been into S&W revolvers until recently. Still some interesting pictures and damned shame about the gun.

I've had those photos in my "kabooms" folder for a couple years at least. Still scary.
