I'm "thinking" about going Sunday.
I haven't twisted my arm hard enough........yet.....but.....maybe.
I would like to pick up some Mountain Man candy.
Haven't had any Cherry Hills for quite a while, and the other half is bugging me about some Peanut Clusters.

I am going down early to beat the heat and patronize ReadyRoom. My wife is burned that I am even going. She is a good progressive liberal, but I love her anyway...

So, what's the deal with CCW at those shows? Is it OK to carry, but you just have to declare it at the door? Or is it strictly forbidden period? Last time, I just wore it in and walked around, but I was scared to death the whole time, until I got back out to the truck and stashed it. Last thing I want is to be dragged out in handcuffs, screaming like a little girl.

Its forbidden, but they dont search you or use wands on you...concealed is concealed.

I guess the last time Tanner Show was in town someone fired off a shot by accident with their carry weapon...one of the dealers, I think...was promptly told to pack up and leave. He made his kid pack everything up, while he just sat there with a pouty face...

Which Vendor? I was 10 feet away from the idiot that did it the last time and for some reason that vendor is back selling at the shows.

I was also gone. When I told my good, progressive wife about it she said, "See, that is why people like me say there should be no guns. If a supposed (SP?) professional can do it, than what about Joe Blow."

The guy who had the ND will hopefully have learned a lesson and will not be allowed back to the show.

Yeah I'd almost agree with her... <rant> (directed at the dumbass with the pistol) If you're going to carry why would you bother to take it off your hip or where ever to hand it over to someone else. You're supposed to carry for a reason, uh these things aren't toys, people will get killed, that's what they're made for..............

Seriously the last thing I am doing is handing over my weapon for someone else to fondle. If I have it on it's for good reason not just for the sake of having it. And I'm sure as hell not going to hand to someone else. Just pure stupidity for the sake of making a dollar if you ask me.

Let me add I have no problem with anyone carrying at the shows open or otherwise. But if you're going to carry it doesn't get handed to someone else no matter if it's been cleared, disassembled, whatever, period. If you're going to take the time to turn it into a club for someone else to handle, you probalby didn't need to carry it anyway. This jackass just gave the anti-gunners another bullet for them to use against us. Effin dumbass. Arms on the table are a whole other arena all together. </rant>

I think I've finally came to the conclusion that the gun shows have seen their better days. While there are still some good vendors and deals to be found it just ain't what it used to be. Even Mike at Bower's will tell you without internet sales he'd be hurting.Sign of the times I guess. Place was way too crowded yesterday and then an AD on top of that !!!

I think the best part about this is I havent seen or heard anything about it outside of here and ARFCOM...no news agencies seemed to have picked up on it...

The Vendor wad a .380 of some sort and he was carrying it. He removed the magazine from it an dlayed it on the table. No chamber check, No Tie on the gun.

Gets laid on the table for sale and a customer picks it up and points it at the floor and pulls the triggeer. BANG.

No one hurt thank god.

Vendor arrested and banned from teh show.

The ASSHATS at Gunner Security (the RETARDS taht had the AD last time) have been apparently allowe din by the new show owners. However they are not allowed any sort of firearm behind or on the table at all. If they are found with one they will be excommunicated.
