View Full Version : Is the backlash mounting?
So far this is what I have seen over the last few years in your state...
The lost of a very strong, very vibrant job-creator Magpul
Outlawing self defense weapons.
Perventing the ability to carry a concealed on a college campus.
Telling women to find "safe zones" or too vomit or pee on the rapist instead of shooting him dead(funny where is NOW? or any other women groups?)
Allowing hordes of illegal aliens into the state to upset the political balance.
And lets not forget, Not Passing Jessica law....
I know I must be missing alot more...But the question is the following.
Is there a backlash mounting? if so how big is it?

Trying to stir the pot from out-of-state is pretty immature.
Yup. We got all these out-of-staters getting a say in our state's affairs. Don't want them here & don't want to hear their shit. Same goes for you....STFU & worry 'bout your own shit.

How is the things our shitty state is doing, having this guy make us look bad?
I've seen a few of his threads, but it seems like he's trying to get a pulse from locals on how big of an upset this might be with the citizens.
Answer: It's never as big of a back lash as we hope. Never.

Our friend from the land of Harry Reid aside, This is the big question that will keep me in the state through the 2014 election. If we get a big swing back to the right (now that pot isn't on the ballot) and start moving back toward personal liberty, I'll stay. If the status quo continues, I won't.
I sincerely hope that these last few months have woken some of us up. I know I'm certainly more interested in local politics than before.

The question is (not personally here towards you -- just in general) -- will it last to the midterms. Very few people vote in midterms. And the public tends to have a very short memory.
These laws are going to be very very difficult to overturn. Even if it was successful, expect to live with them for 5-10 years. (in other words: we have a lot of work ahead of us)
My point there isn't to be negative. It's to be realistic and a bit motivational. I get a feeling that a lot of people are gonna just throw their hands up when the final votes come down... but even then it doesn't mean it's over; just a lot harder.

Remember 1994. Those were midterm elections, and perhaps there wasn't a big turn out, but those who turned out overwhelmingly voted republican. We need a republican governor to win next year, and majorities in both houses. After all of this, any gun owner who still votes for a liberal in 2014 should be committed to a psych ward. Every gun owner has a responsibility to themselves, their family, this state, and this country, to vote for whoever is against gun control.

I'm sorry, could you refresh my memory about what awesome things those Republicans did with that majority? Was the AWB overturned? Did they act decisively and immediately to overturn that garbage legislation?

You didn't read everything I said. A new governor, as well as majorities, or super majorities in both houses. While the republicans took over congress at the end of 1994, we still had Slick Willy in office. Any bill that would have thrown out the '94 Crime bill would have been met with a veto. They didn't have enough to secure that yet. We kick the pooper out of office and take over the legislature, we're dealing with a different game, completely, as long as the elected officials remember who got them there.

And Slick Willy was more of a pragmatist and less of an idealist. He was willing to compromise and give some in order to provide himself a legacy.
The current Democrats are not interested in true compromise. Their idea of compromise is for the opponents to concede to the Democrats demands.

I'm not getting it. Why is there such a large amount of animosity towards the OP? He is asking questions as to the political environment here due to the gun bills and other things. Why so mean to him?
Maybe you need to read all the threads where we are all trying to call and email our senators, the several of us who hae gone down to the caption to testify, the start of recall elections, and just the general over attitude that we are all very fucking pissed off. How about you send some of your $$$ to any legislator going against any of the dems up for reelection in the next election cycle. How about sending some emails stating you will refuse to come to a state that prevents you from self defense and businesses and tax revenue will suffer tremendously.
How about you help us out instead of now reading how pissed off we are and asking a question you already know the answer to.

We are "allowing" hordes of illegals in. Like we get a choice. I'd love to patrol our border and stop them on my own free time, but for what? To have them let go.

And if we vote in all Repubs, and it's a total Repub majority they will not do a damn thing about repealing any of these, or any other B.S. unconstitutional laws. Give me one example where it has happened, I sure cannot remember any.
Repubs - Democraps = same animal, slightly different stripes.

Have you seen his posts? All of them are "Why does Colorado suck so much?" "Why have you let the liberals take over your state?" "Why are you all so stupid!?" kind of posts... It's not the content but the presentation and constant pointing out how bad things are getting here, DUH! We got it, we're living it. It all comes off as "I'm better than you, now take my criticism."

Yes.
Now that your question has been answered, do you have anything positive to contribute to the Colorado AR 15 Shooter community? Are you considering a relocation to Colorado? Why are you so focused on legislation in Colorado? I ask because many of us in Colorado are tired of people from outside of our state coming to Denver to influence our legislature.
How are things in Nevada?
, any gun owner who still votes for a liberal in 2014 should be committed to a psych ward. Every gun owner has a responsibility to themselves, their family, this state, and this country, to vote for whoever is against gun control.
A gun owner voting for a statist is like a jew voting for a member of the Nazi party....

I am not sure...but we can all agree that if the passing of these job-killing, liberty extermianting bills can pass in one of the strong holds of the west it can happen anywhere...
I find it disturbing that a girl can smoke a joint(i dont care if she does its her right to and my righ to do what ever I wish as long as I dont harm anybody or there property) but she cant carry a pistol with her if she goes to college, and if she carries it out side of a college she cant carry over X amount of rounds....
Hate me, fine I do not care, sorry for wanting to get into a fight that I see as worth fighting...sorry for wanting to save liberty and freedom in your state...sorry how dare I.
Attack on one is an attack on all of us.
If they can do this to you in your state they can do it to anyone of us any where at any time....
Yes.

I like your state, I have had many summers of fun living there...and yes I would love to move there.
Cant blame about libtards moving into a state, fleeing the hellholes that they made, only to vote the very state policies that made them so poor, unsafe, and un-American.
Things are going ok in the state legislature. we have new passed a law one permit you carry any handgun, before that if you wanted to switch from single action toy double action from semi toy wheel gun you needed to get a new permit
we are trying to pass college and constitutional carry as of now.

The "backlash" onto you is not due to your wanting to get into this fight- it's the manner with which you choose to do so... You post things that are viewed and received as vitriolic and inflammatory toward Colorado. Most of your topics begin with the motif akin to "Why is your state so fucked up?" Perhaps you could word it differently, such as "As an outsider who loves CO, I have noticed lately that there is a big push by the left..." and use positive and constructive terms, not inciting and insulting language.

Sniper7, I was just interested in the number of posts you have, 11,710. I did some very simple calculations and this works out to0 6.416 posts everyday for the five years you've been here. Just wonderin if you realized that. Why? I just found it very interesting the sheer quantity of posts. Is there anyone here with more that you know of? You must have responed to a huge amount of posts, plus youer own originals.

From the body language and actions I viewed on Monday, the (D)'s have either: 1) already made up their minds to vote against the Constitution; or 2) Been bought by Bloomberg money.
The vote is just a formality. Colorado Democrat politicians are walking lockstep with the Marxist-Muslim Obama and the federal Democrats. They hate the Constitution and view it as an impediment to their agenda.
