I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet. One of my buddies has a AA .50 Beowulf and it came with a standard .50 Beowulf mag but what we found was that standard PMAGs function perfect but they only hold 15 rounds . So my question is can magpul legally make .50 Beowulf mags the same way they make regular PMAGs and just mark them .50 Beowulf ?

This is another issue with the magazine bill. Several calibers fit into standard pmags with reduced capacity. Best thing is to own them now in case these overreaching laws do pass and then you are supposedly legal

yeah I'm waiting for a cop to drop 16 22LR into a 9mm mag and confiscate it.

I was thinking they could do this as a big FUCK YOU colorado here is your 15 round mag . But Im good on mags. Also I bet Alexander Arms would get on board if not I think a few other calibers work the same way like .458 socom and .450 bushmaster like stated above. I guess it could be a double edged sword as well they could just start sticking .22lr in any mag they want and BAN THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [teabag]

I think you could successfully argue that a 9mm mag is not a functional device for feeding .22 into a semiautomatic firearm. The problem with mags marked .50 Beowulf is that possession of them while simultaneously owning a .223 rifle would be "constructive intent", somewhat like having a 7 inch AR barrel, but no pistol lower, and no SBR stamp.

So you are saying they will use logic to throw your ass in jail, and if you have a .50bw mag they will illegally search you to make sure you have a .50bw

...which you will have had a background check done to buy...unless you possessed it before the ban...unless you sold it, but couldn't transfer the magazines due to the new laws...

yeah, we're pretty much fucked unless we can get the senate to kill this shit.

Tfogger, could you clarify this?

I see why the 7" + no pistol lower + no stamp indicates intent, but why would .50beo mags + .223 AR = intent if we don't specify that there is no .50beo lower? What if the suspect has a multi-cal lower hanging out? Couldn't he just buy pmag bodies for his big bore build without constructive intent?

Correct me if I'm wrong, the three calibers in discussion are all 10 round capacity in standard AR mags, not 15, yes?

I'm pretty sure it held 15 if not it held 13-14 not 10
