According to 7 news two pit bulls escaped from their yard and attacked a dog in another's yard. The man shot and killed one and wounded the other to save his dog.
The DA is now going to charge him with two felony's; felony cruelty to animals and unlawfull discharge of a firearm..WTF was he supposed to do?

He was supposed to let those two pit bulls viciously mutilate his dog, and THEN get charged with animal cruelty felonies for allowing it to happen. [Mad]

Liberal logic if you will, and I use that word loosely.

You can protect property with force in Colorado. Also the owner of the pitbulls can be charged
.
Owners of dangerous dogs in Colorado are subject to criminal charges, ranging from Class 3 misdemeanors to Class 5 felonies, for injuries to, or death of, any person or domestic animal caused by the dangerous dog [CRS § 18-9-204.5(3)(b)-(e)]. Additionally, owners may be required to pay restitution in an amount equal to the fair market value of the domestic animal prior to the injury or death, plus any reasonable medical expenses incurred as a result of the dangerous dog's activities [CRS § 18-9-204.5(3)(e)].

If anything attacks my dog I will kill it period no different than it if attacked me. You have a problem with that talk to my Lawyer that DA can pack sand.

Yeah, I don't see a problem here either...well, except that the guy only wounded the other one.
