But . . . what is wrong with drone strikes on Americans on American soil without a trial? After all, Eric Holder signed off on that. . .

Good for him! It's a known fact that Brennan converted to Muslim. And he wants to be the CIA director? Ummmm, yeah...

He's still going, still speaking eloquently on limitations of government per the Constitution. What a monster! That is dedication, folks.

Who else has been speaking? I saw Mike Lee from Utah and John Barrasso from Wyoming.

Sen. Cruz (R-TX) spoke (well) for a while earlier.

Cruz has been doing great so far in the Senate. Way better than that rino Kay Bailey Hutchinson. I was ready to vote against her when I lived in TX, but she didn't resign when she said she would. Oh well, looks like TX dun good without me.

Sen. Paul has not been allowed to read his cell phone for the 10 hours he's been on the floor, so Sen. Cruz is now giving him a reprieve by reading his entire twitter feed for the last half hour. #StandWithRand

These guys can talk!! Holly shit, I would have talked for 10 min and been tired .........
How long do they need to Filibuster for?
I like the last guy from TX talking.
How long do they need to Filibuster for?
Till the fall over or get an answer from the Whitehouse.
FYI:
Longest filibuster
Strom Thurmond — 24 hours, 18 minutes: At the time, the South Carolina senator was a Democrat, who was railing against the Civil Rights Act of 1957. To fill the time, Thurmond read the election laws of all 48 states that were then part of the union.

He sure is. Many Senate Republicans have joined him. May I say I am proud of Rand Paul. Finally an elected leader fighting for our citizenry.

Why go for 12 hours and then stop???
Well, it wasn't really about keeping this guy from being nominated. It was about calling attention to this administration's propensity to assume authority prohibited to it by the Constitution.

Way to go Rand! Rand Paul 2016!
Im paying attention. Im looking for someone to put my time, effort and money behind; someone who will put their time and effort for the future of this, no!; the greatest nation on God's green earth and that of my children upon it. Period; Before our "options" for the next election are made for us and we end up seeing a famous name ( a trap) on the ballot. God please hear my prayer! Help me contribute to the stop of californication of Colorado and that of the nation! Please help me be that message that needs to be heard by those who are still lucid enough to grasp what is at stake.

He left the floor because he had to poop.
Would you have respected him more or less if he had just dropped a load in his shorts to stay on the floor?

Filibuster has continued for over 24 hours in the past.
Rand is pretty spectacular for doing this.

[ROFL1]
Maybe he should have brought a bottle of Imodium and popped one every few hours.
He is the kind of guy that the GOP really needs. Man I wish we had some more reps like him. Someone who will stand for the constitution and oppose unjust laws. If this guy runs in 2016 he will have my vote! I also like that he compared the drone bombing to alice in wonderland. shows you how stupid you must be to want to allow bombing of American citizens ESPECIALLY on American soil.
Wonder if Bush and Dick ordered this how many fake conservatives would be okay with it?
I was thinking the exact same thing. The modern republican party isn't the one Eisenhower belonged to.

sad:
http://www.businessinsider.com/mccain-slams-rand-paul-filibuster-2013-3
U.S. Sen. John McCain blasted fellow Republican Rand Paul (http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/rand-paul) on the Senate floor this morning for his 13-hour filibuster to block John Brennan (http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/john-brennan)'s confirmation as CIA Director. "Calm down, Senator," McCain said, in an apostrophe to Paul. "The U.S. government cannot randomly target U.S. citizens."
In his filibuster Wednesday, Paul criticized the White House over its drone policies, and for refusing to rule out military strikes against U.S. citizens on American soil. (http://www.businessinsider.com/rand-paul-filibusters-john-brennan-2013-3)
McCain, a staunch foreign policy hawk, said Thursday that Paul's warnings that the U.S. could target "Jane Fonda" or "people in cafes" bring the debate into the "realm of the ridiculous."
"If Mr. Paul wants to be taken seriously he needs to do more than pull political stunts that fire up impressionable libertarian kids," McCain said, adding: "I don't think what happened yesterday is helpful to the American people."
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) echoed these criticisms, adding that he was "disappointed" in the 13 Republican Senators who supported Paul's filibuster last night.
Graham later told reporters that he will vote to confirm Brennan as a result of the filibuster.

Fuck John McCain. Years in a north Vietnam prison doesn't cancel out decades of fucking up Anerica via DC.

And we're supposed to have some kind of respect for these "leaders"? Sounds like a kid who got all upset over his marbles at the playground... And it's so nice of the Repubics (to use Mark Levin's phrase) to all get along and stop this terrible nomination!

McCain & Graham both need to fade into the sunset.
Wow... and to think, I voted for McCain in '08. Shameful. I guess the old dogs of the GOP need to retire and make way for the younger crop.
I'm reminded of what my friend's son said back in '08: "Daddy, kind of a hard election huh? You have the ugly, black, dumbo eared buffoon vs the Emperor..." [LOL]

If a party that was trounced in the last two elections for being out of touch with the majority of voters wanted to give itself a makeover by having the fresh faces of the party identify with the center and right-leaning voter base, what better way to do so than to have the old guard oust itself while we are cheering on their replacements? Maybe the Republican party isn't brain-dead after all. Time will tell.
