View Full Version : DPO: Colorado gun bills: Dems need 18 votes or measures are doomed
Hi All - I am not necessarily a big fan of The Denver Post, which has turned into Pravda/Tass for the Democratic Party, but they published this article which does a good job outlining the current status of the various gun control bills currently under consideration in the Colorado Senate: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_22735050
The take-away is to not give up. For the senators that are not marching in-line with their party, they will be subject to a lot of arm-twisting, intimidation and threats made by their leadership. That is why it is important to reach out to these "swing" senators, so they know we have their back if they vote against the bills:
Senator Angela Giron -SD03- (303)866-4878
angela.giron.senate@state.co.us
Senator Jeanne Nicholson -SD16- (303)866-4873
jeanne.nicholson.senate@state.co.us
Senator Cheri Jahn-SD20- (303)866-4856
cheri.jahn.senate@state.co.us
Senator Nancy Todd-SD28- (303)866-3342
senatornancytodd@gmail.com
Unity is the source of strength, not numbers.
There are some other democratic senators as well who are possibly still open minded on the issues. I receved this message and sent out emails to everyone listed.
Please read this important message from Senate Republican Leader Bill L. Cadman about the gun control measures at the State Capitol.
Dear Coloradan,
Thank you for signing the petition opposing the Democrats’ gun control package currently being debated in the Colorado General Assembly. On Monday, hundreds of Coloradans showed up to testify against these extreme measures.
While they passed committee on a party-line vote, the battle isn’t over. These bills will be debated in the Senate, this Friday, March 8th, and the vote is going to be close. This is why we need you to act immediately!
Please take a moment and contact these members and respectfully ask them to vote NO on the proposed gun control package.

Also, please consider filling the Senate gallery to show your opposition to the proposed gun control bills. The Senate convenes at 9:00 a.m. The debate will likely go late into the night.
Thank you for standing up for the Second Amendment. My colleagues and I truly thank you for your support in assisting us in speaking out against these onerous proposals.
Sincerely,
Bill L. Cadman

Hardly surprising that Rep. Fields, the foremost Colorado proponent for gun control, has an extensive criminal record.

I'm not so sure I'd call 2 misdemeanors 25 years apart to be an extensive criminal record. Or is that just her aurora arrests?
One thing that is weird though, why does she have 5 aliases?

I'm not so sure I'd consider it weird for a criminal to have 5 alias.

Take a look at the thread in GD. The hits just keep on coming. The more they dig the bigger it gets. [LOL]

There were other arrests as well. Check FRUAD for one which she pleaded guilty too. Many misdemeanors are pled down felonies. Regardless I don't want a convicted thief having anything to say about my rights. Most employers would not hire a person with a similar record. Why don't employers hire people with such records? It is simple to answer because they are likely to steal from the employer. Also criminals tend to use other names for deception. A lot of red flags on this woman, and certainly she has no business making laws for society.

DJkest, this is only the number of times she was caught! Shoplifters and check writers do it for as long as they can until they get caught. So youi cannot assume these were the ONLY times she did this. Her criminal career last for over 22 years! She ONLY got caught a few times. NEVER assume a criminal has only did the acts in the amount of ties they were caught!!!!

Oh, and by the way, I did email each of these senators this morning with a letter that was rather cordial if I do say so myself.

Done.
I tried calling first, I'd say about half of them had voice mail boxes that were full. LOL
I sent emails to most as a result, I did talk to one staffer and left a voice message for another.

Done. I wonder if it's not a case of full voice mail boxes, but unplugged lines or disabled boxes.
