I know I am going to get shot at here, so do your best. Yesterday my oldest son stopped by with his new CCW and a new Ruger LC9 9mm. His model has the laser[Bang]on it. He is having a ruff time finding a holster for it. I think it only carries 7 rounds but I don't have a problem with that for the size of the gun. What I do mind is the trigger pull. Give me a brake. All the way back and about 15#. The checkering has got to hurt after about 30 min. range time. And what is with that "loaded chamber indicator" that pops up about 1/4 inch when you rack one in. Please someone jump in here and shoot me down. Tell me the LC9 is worth the money and time it will take to get used to fireing it. [ROFL1]

Its not a range gun. No one I know likes shooting one, but it fits in your pocket nicely and it will function when you pull the trigger. No safety hence the ridiculous trigger pull. Its a fine weapon for its intended purpose.

As stated, It's not a range toy. The Long heavy trigger pull does serve a purpose, as stated. It's a <7m gun. The sights, trigger pull, capacity, grip, size, etc. are not intended for anything other than a small easily concealable last line of defense.

It's a Ruger. End of story.

Horrible gun for the range.. You forgot to mention the absolute deal breaker for me -- the false trigger reset that would get me killed. You let it go forward about 1/2 and inch and you get a nice auditory and tangible 'click' like a trigger reset. You try to pull from there and nothing will work. You have to let it go ALL the way forward to another click. I tried shooting rapidly with a friend's LC9 and I threw it on the ground and walked away from it.

But it does tuck away nicely.

I agree with most said here as far as a little "Mouse Pocket" gun and being able to hide it well, and "its a Ruger End of Story", and so on. But, I would wager that out to 10 feet even with the laser on you can't put 7 rounds in a 10 inch plate shooting off hand.

No, that's what's wrong with it. It's a Ruger. Too many safeties to prevent you from shooting it and breaking. Terrible trigger pull. If it's not a revolver or a 22, stay away from Ruger.

Sorry M.G. I read and took your post the wrong way.

7/7 from 15' in closing distance as I fire...on a coke can.

I didn't like the concave shape of the grip. Just never could get used to it. Sold it & bought a PT-709 & have never regretted it. Just a fit issue. Btw, I never had a malfunction with either one. Am not bad-mouthing the LC9 at all.

Had one with the LaserMax for a while. Definitely not a range gun, but for CCW it got the job done. No malfs and it hit where pointed. Concealed very well, occasionally had to think or pat pocket or side to feel holster. Found a kydex holster @ 5280. Rugged Tactical was brand I think.

That's how I feel about my Kel-tec P-11. Tough for me to shoot.

It's not just you. Those little mouse guns aren't made for that range. They are made for close up work under 10 feet. To be honest, the bad guy isn't a danger yet out at "15yds."

My PF-9 works perfectly, and is actually fun to shoot and hit what I aim at out to 10 or so yards no problem. For that matter so is my AMT .380 Backup, which is actually very fun to shoot and we were repeatedly hitting out to 15 or so yards. The LC9 is even smaller and lighter than those, and is just unpleasant to shoot.

Are you saying the bad guy isn't in danger at 15 yards in dealing with one of the mouse guns, or he isn't a danger at 15 yards? Just curious.

I was looking at one of these, but after shooting one I went with a Bersa Thunder. Not a range gun like others said, I did like the ease of concealment, but wasn't worth it to me for the price.

Re read the post. It says "isn't a danger" not "isn't in danger." Don't cut up my post to read what you want it to say.

So you are saying at 15yds the bad guy isn't a danger? Just clarifying, as that seems odd. What if the "badguy" has a gun? Or is endangering someone else? I definitely wasn't trying to make your post read what I wanted it to say. Wow...think I will get off the computer and go shooting.

I carry the LC9, No laser, and it works just fine for me. Not a range gun for sure but compared to the S&W BG, this was a better fit.
+1 NO Malfunctions and concealed very well.
