View Full Version : Daddy doing his part
Got an awesome opportunity last Sunday to take mama & my best little freind in the whole world out to Bob's range. He shot over 400 rounds of .22 LR and couldn't get enough. It was fun to say the least. Dad won big cool points that day. Not to mention mama got to put a few hundred rounds through the 9mm AR. All in all a great day, too good not to share.

400 rounds of .22LR....... did you have to take out a second mortgage to afford that?
Nicely done. Keep up the good work.

Awesome. Good times spent with the little ones.
Wish BluCore would still let me bring her. It sucks having to drive out to Harris Park to let her shoot.

LOL, no actually I have a bit of .22 LR left from when I owned my GSG-5 and happened across it about a month ago. I've now dedicated it all to my boy for his range time. :D

I Lucked out seriously.
GA Firingline here in Marietta has a brand new air re-circulation system and has Mommy/Daddy and me shooting for the little ones.
Double ear-pro, Goggles, a Walther P-22 and a Box of ammo.

very cool!
Got about 2 yrs till I can take my first.
Awesome! How old is he?
He is 3 1/2. Very sharp little guy. He has his own tablet, knows how to operate Netflix to see his cartoons. Kind of scary really. He navigates that thing better than his dad.

My 2 1/2 year old is about the same. He knows how to run an iPad better than I do. Can't wait to take him shooting for the first time.
That's too cool man!

Thanks for sharing this. I have to admit that it's the first thing I've ever seen that makes me wish I had a snot gobbler of my own.

I remember doing that with my dad at that age. I would shoot until there was no more ammo, always. These are memories that will make him smile 40 years from now! [Awesom]

So cool. I can't wait to take my stepson out with his .22 for the first time.
Very nice, I can not wait until my boy(s) is old enough (3 & 5), granted if I can find ammo, I do have 500 rds to plink with so hopefully wont go bad. [Coffee]

Very cool. What model pistol is that, and how was reliability over the 400rds? (been thinking of getting a .22lr pistol, but wanted one with the best cycling reliability)

There's nothing like range time with your kids-memories for me at this stage ! Well done Dad. [Beer]

It was a Ruger Buckmark .22 LR. We were using Remington ammunition and it had a few hiccups along the way but that is to be expected when shooting that much dirty .22 ammo. All in all it ran really great. We bore-snaked it about every 50-80 rounds which kept things running smoother. It was easy for him to manipulate the slide and seat the magazine when I would hold it for him. Really great time. Thank all of you for the kudos. This little guy and I have an amazing bond and honestly wish I could've been a better father to my older son when he was this age but after his mother and I split, being a part-time dad was a real bitch. I feel like I got a 2nd chance at being a better father and I'm doing everything I can to give both my sons a great childhood. In fact, last summer I took my oldest (whose 15 now) out to Bob's range where he shot my .223 AR, 9mm AR and Kimber .45. He really had a great time and we are making plans to do it again when we can get more bullets loaded.

Is that the Daisy Legacy ? Has the adjustable butt pad pull out ? If it is that's my son's first .22 rifle. Lord that was 20 years ago.
My son just turned two, i can't wait to take him shooting. Everytime i guy a new gun, i tell my wife its for the kids. :)
Keep up the good work dad!

Err ruger makes Mark I/II/III, browning makes Buckmarks. I think it's the Buckmark, though!
