That is right... you can try and blame the Dems all you want but it is YOUR damn fault we are in this mess. But we got out and voted, you say? No... with many of the elected officials only receiving about 25% of the vote from eligible voters... that shows about 50% of you stayed home! Oh I'm sure you had a GREAT excuse! Good old Willard didn't put these Colorado representatives and senators in place. The people of Colorado did! I find it somewhat comical that the pro-gun Dems are being the whipping post when I'm sure we can probably all agree that there were exponentially more pro 2A Republicans that did NOT vote than there were pro 2A Dems who did. So who REALLY is to blame here? Those who got the vote out? Or those who were too damn lazy to get out and vote! I mean think about it... REALLY!

Lets take Hickenlooper as an example. When he signs these things in to law... we will see "oh thanks a lot Democraps!" Hick won with LESS than 26% of the vote from eligible CO voters. Where were the other 74% of voters? Some of them voted against him but roughly HALF of them stayed home! They are the ones that are responsible. They are the ones who should be ashamed! The freaking Dems got the vote out! Was everybody else too busy watching Duck Dynasty or something? What was going on that was so important to where they felt like they didn't need to vote?

What's done is done. We can't turn back time and redo the election. What we can do is move forward. Turning on one another isn't going to solve anything.

Let's pull it together folks. What we can do is devise a strategy we can put into effect come our next couple of election cycles (it'll take more than 1 election to clean out these douchebags - including the Governor and our Federal officials. We can work and push recall election efforts. We can get people in office that will work to repeal these illegal measures.

We can't do any of this if we remain divided. We've got to get on the same page. We've got to get our friends, family and every other person we come into contact with into this fight with us. The only way we'll send the message we need to send - as loudly as we need to send it - is to drop the standing on principles bullshit and find the candidates who have the realistic chance to win and reinstate our Rights.

So, let's quit the bickering and find the common ground and common mission to dictate our future actions.

Last election - CO anti-gun Senate President John Morse defeated the Republican candidate by approximately 1% of the vote. Meanwhile, the Libertarian candidate got a whopping 4.7% of the vote. Those votes for the Libertarian candidate with no chance of winning could have kept Morse out of office.

That could have been enough to have kept all of this from seeing the light of day.

I like how all last year the hardcore (R)s around here were screaming, "Libertarians shouldn't be going for the brass ring of POTUS, they need to start with local elections first." Then the (R)s went and put up shit candidates across the board, can't seem to keep from alienating most of the voting populace with their "morality via legislation" platform, and suddenly it's the Libertarians' fault for voting their party in local elections.

I understand the frustration, but name calling, blame-pinning, and the endless "yeah... recall these mofos for sure" isn't going to change a fucking thing. We need to start focusing early on 2014, and thinking of some constructive, proactive ways of making the liberal blight disappear with the next round of elections. Ways of damaging their reputations in the community, ways of bolstering their opponents, and ways of fixing/improving the image of gun owners in the voting public's mind.

Good sentiment. Good luck defeating the Colorado Model (http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/item/14577-reaping-the-whirlwind-the-colorado-model-and-gun-control).

In covering the bills for the Associated Press, Ivan Moreno noted that “the vote [on] Monday in Colorado’s gun control debate is part of the shift in the region’s politics to the left.”That shift has been going on at least since 2004 when four rich liberals, Tim Gill, Rutt Bridges, Jared Polis, and Pat Stryker, decided to fund the Colorado Model (http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/015/316nfdzw.asp?page=1), a low-profile strategy deliberately designed to turn “red states blue” according to Erik Erikson (http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2011/12/28/the-colorado-model-the-lefts-stratagem-for-turning-red-states-to-blue/), a blogger at Redstate.com. As explained by Erikson, the Colorado Model is “one of the left’s most effective stratagems … when combined with the tactics of Saul Alinsky and his disciples, the Colorado Model is akin to a Soviet platoon armed with AK-47s mowing down a militia armed with slingshots.”

As long as they're not coming door to door for people's guns, I'm willing to be stubbornly and unrealistically optimistic about our chances of defeating them thru legal and political means. I'm with you, I don't think it will ultimately do a damn bit of good (mainly because I think it's all just small parts to a larger, entropic spiral downwards to the end times) but I wouldn't feel I had a right to bitch about it if I just rolled over. :-)

In the same line of thought as those mad at so many staying home and not voting (not saying I don't completely agree with Carl here though- I agree 100%, and consider "Pro-gun Democrat" to be a major oxymoron), I blame the A-64 folks, they got all the little pot smoking libs off their asses and in the voting booths. These are people who, for the most part, cast their vote for anyone with a (D) after their names... So yes, blame can be thrown in many directions, but at the end of the day, what can we do to make it so more come out and vote next time around? We need those who know "Shall not be infringed" is not open to interpretation.

Agreed. I just wanted to point out what an uphill battle it is to fight billionaires who have put in place specific infrastructure to influence all levels of public perception for going on many years now. There are more of us than them here in Colorado. If everyone who is bitching about this injustice gets off their ass and does just a little bit to help, we can turn the tide. If everyone just sits at their computer complaining, we will continue to lose.

Don't forget a big fuck you to the Republican leadership for choosing candidates that make conservative and libertarian voters say fuck it and stay home. While the party of evil makes sure they get candidates the the mindless welfare voters vote reliably, the party of stupid manages to nominate wishy washy candidates that do nothing to really inspire voters. There have been several good folks running for the R nomination in the past that basically get tossed out very quickly, only leaving a compromiser like Romney. I'd vote for just about anyone on this forum over who gets the official nomination for Republican, even Ronin!

I've only voted once in my life for a party of evil member, and that was a protest vote against a "Republican" who was basically running to the left of the D candidate. I'll never do it again, I don't care who it is.

I learned to hate the Democrats in '94. I was just as pissed then as I am now, and I spent many many hours of my life volunteering on campaigns to make the '94 election happen. People need to realize that Democrats as a collective will vote for socialism.

Secondly and most importantly,

There is no one group who will take power; in other words, the majority is based on who wins the moderates. If you are determined to make every candidate a Tea Party or Libertarian candidate, then enjoy the minority. I would much rather have a moderate Republican who will vote with their caucus on important issues like 2A, then have a moderate Democrat who will vote with theirs. If a district is a swing district, it is rather pointless to run a conservative candidate who loses the general election every time. The Republican party purged their moderates over the last 10 years, and now they are in the minority.

If we can't come together with everybody right of center, then this crap will continue to happen and get worse! I know what I am talking about; I worked in Congress, think tanks, state legislatures, and campaigns until I got sick of it.

Also, I share the big FU to all gun owning Democrats...this is not the first time the Democrats have attacked our 2A rights and it won't be the last. They should know better!

We're always preaching to ourselves, we're not the ones that need convincing of how to cure the problem. I doubt any of us here voted for the bad folks currently in office.

Do our best to take a non-believer to the range and educate them. I've done this with two folks in the past year, both are more receptive to who and what we are. One person wants to go shooting all the time, if she could find ammo. Both are Females, and one brought her sister in law the 2nd trip to the range. I'm working with one to get her daughter on the range too. She was present, but didn't want to shoot - no pressure from us, she will want to one day after watching Mom and Aunt shoot.

One lady I started on a Ruger MKII, but after twenty rounds, she wanted badly to shoot the 9mm she recently purchased. She had a good time.

Teach the children, yours or not. Girls especially, they bring emotion to the range and voting booth. Just a couple more years and I'll have another voter in the house. Couple after that, another one.

Take your kid to the range, and one of their friends. (if showing interest, with parent permission) If denied, then no pressure. Move along to the next one. Ask the parent to come along, let them shoot a few rounds.

You get the idea.

I know everyone is bitter, and wanting very badly to blame somoene. And why not? It feels immediately better to place the fault on Group X.

But it does no good in the long run.

Many of us can now state that we are no longer virgins to the sham that it the political arena in this state; where the lobbyists and the legislators already had made up their minds before introducing the public to the dog-and-pony show that passes for "lawmaking" and justification of paychecks at the Capitol. They surprised the Pro-2A group by showing us what politics is REALLY all about, instead of the way we were taught in school and on tv. Politics is ugly, unfair and mercenary at the best of times.

Instead of the movie "Dave," it is more akin to "First Blood."

So, the Democrats woke a sleeping giant. Instead of turning on each other or finding a scapegoat, let us instead beat them at their own game. Let us become Kingmakers.

We pick both a representative and a member of the Senate to introduce and carry a bill next year (or 2015, depending on if we can replace the anti-2A scoundrels with representatives of our own,) removing this nonsense and restoring our rights. In other words, we're in it for the long haul. We can no longer afford to react. We must act and plan and carry it out, instead of jumpng through the hoops that are set before us. We are NOT trained sheep, we are wolves...and it's time to bring our pack together and have an actual say in our future.

Someone is actually making sense. We all like to bitch about the outcome (myself included) but the only way to fight gov't funded nanny laws and propaganda against a liberal society is with a dose of reality. No better dose than some range time actually handling the object that they were taught to fear. Only then will logic and reason take hold. Especially important with our pre-college kids as they haven't yet been exposed to college level liberalism.
