I've been lurking for a few weeks, but it's time to say hello. I'm still fairly new to firearms, especially the Ar-15. Looks like I can learn a lot from this forum. If the frenzy ever dies down, I would like to pick up an AR. I just need to figure out which one...

Now - figuring out what to buy is simple, and it's the same advice I've been giving out unasked for many, many years regardless: buy a Colt. Never look back and never sell any Colt you buy - you'll thank me later. Branch out afterwards, listen to the experts, build an AR, break your own trail - just start all your firearms collection and experiences with Colt.

I was weaned on a pre-war 1911 (not A, not 1) before I entered high school.

Thanks for the offer. I'm working on my plan to buy the G19 and avoid the wife's wrath. Gonna be tough but it can't wait.
