My first born is finally old enough to go hunting with me, I'm pretty excited even though he doesn't yet want to go after big game.
Anyway, long story short, I haven't been rabbit hunting since I was a kid in Pagosa Springs so I don't have any idea where to take him. Does anyone know a place accessible from Arvada (within 2 hours or so) that'd be good for a kid on his first trip?

Thanks

Not sure if it would meet Your criteria for close or not. Out east there is a small SWA called Karvel. I go fishing there every now and then. I admit that because of the foot last year and work this year, I haven't been there in awhile. The last time I was though, There were enough Jacks and cottentails that One almost was stepping on them as I walked to the lake..

I can get there in about two hours from Westminster, Just go to Limon, and get on 71 heading south, it's about 30-40 minutes south of 70. The sign at the entrance was kind of small so You have to pay attenion or, You'll miss it..

Take a Fly rod with You, if the bunnies are down in they're hole watching Oprah or something, You can always have fun with the Bass and Bluegills in the lake.

Thanks. I hate cross-posting like that, but I can't tell who's on both forums, you know?

And Marlin too, thanks. Not too bad of a drive since the only other place I know is about 3 hours away.
