First off I voted no for the pot amendment. I also figured it would bring riff raff out to vote who don't normally vote which gave us our demoncrat dominated legislators. Either way what frustrates me is that our state government can create a so called task force to see how they can market pot as a tourism attraction. I don't care what Peter Butt Boil says every morning most decent familys are not going to want to tour a pot sampling festival nor to they want to be around a seedy society. My other point is that the State creates a task force for this garbage but won't even to the same to evaluate things around the 2nd amendment in Colorado as they rammed those bills through the process.

Devils Advocate: They do the same things for alcohol, so if it creates revenue no big deal. Also if everyone is High it doesn't sting as much while the take away your Constitutional Rights. It is weird that they talk about giving you more freedom, while taking away a Right.
I understand the expected revenue upside to this pot issue. What I don't understand is how, after so many years going after tobacco smokers, trying to prevent the use, limiting where you could smoke, taxes, etc, now the state seems to be promoting smoking pot. So is tobacco still bad but pot is ok?
As a non-smoker of either, I really don't know if one is worse health wise or not, just seems hypocritical.....

Basically what I am really ranting is about is all the care and thought being put into this, and no efforts or care was put into evaluating the gun controls legislation put forth. Yes I hate pot over alcohol, but i have my personal experience.
MJ is worse because it is often smoked unfiltered and deeply inhaled. but the amount smoked greatly offsets it. a pack a day of tobacco or a couple grams of MJ
I voted against it soley due to where the extra revenue is diverted. It should be legal but sin taxes should only be used to reduce the use of what is being taxed, not diverted to pet projects (schools).
There are plenty of healthier ways to consume it if one were so inclined.
I voted for it - people are undoubtedly tired of hearing Libertarian rants, so I'll just say the so-called War On Drugs has worked just as well as Prohibition. Funds the cartels, makes criminals out of sometimes otherwise harmless people, and bogs down our justice/prison system. And no, I don't smoke weed either.
I understand what BSZ is saying and agree with part of it. I voted no on 64, not because I'm anti pot, but because it was a poorly written and vague bill. I also live in a town that will be ground zero for pot tourism.
The "powers that be" don't want the populous armed. No amount of fact will change their positions.
Pot is a good diversion. It will also be another revenue stream to exploit.

I continue to hear this argument that once we legalize and regulate MJ the state will see this great source of tax revenue. My question is how is that possible given the fact that pot shops cannot conduct business with any federally backed bank. So without a means to bank legally they are forced into a cash based business.
So with a cash business model how does the state track the sales and tax accordingly? We all know every pot shop will keep detailed records and pay all taxes required wont they?

My wife is a legal user of MMJ and it is a cash only business, they say to avoid credit card fraud, and every transaction is recorded in real time by the state. There are cameras and microphones in every room of the facility from the grow and storage rooms to the waiting and sell rooms. It is all monitored very, very closely by the state. I imagine that when the new Pot laws are written they will require something very similar for tracking. The growers on the other hand are not so closely monitored for amounts harvested and transferred.
I am all for MJ and it is not as bad as some people make it out to be. I have had no health problems and no legal troubles with it. I also understand with freedom comes responsibility. I may decide to smoke, but I never drive, I don't work high, I am not stoned all day, and for me it is the equivalent of having a beer after work. I know there are some people who can't handle responsibility with MJ and are your stereotypical stoners. I see a lot of common actions with MJ and 2a supporters. MJ is not a constitutional right so we can get that out of the way. People make up false things about how dangerous MJ makes us, Just like libs tell us that high cap mags and semi autos are dangerous. They don't trust us with guns, we dont trust them driving or being producers to society. Fact of the matter is that both freedoms require responsiblity. Don't drive or work stoned, go for it. Own all the guns and ammo you want, don't hurt anyone, and it's ok. There are bad apples in both subjects, but most are not the way each side portrays them to be. I might take some heat for coming out as an all out advocate for MJ but oh well. If push comes to shove and i have to choose one right to keep...2A without question.

I have the entire pot thing. Most idiotic thing I've seen. Colorado is becoming a joke. Law abiding people that have never done a bad thing in their life are being stepped on and pot heads are being rewarded.
Lifting a restriction is not a reward. Let's act like adults and stop pretending that people who use MJ have been given some type of biased advantage. They can continue to do what they were doing before; but now they won't go to prison for it.
If this mag ban was lifted, would you consider that a reward?

Credit unions.
I just found it funny that they put together a "joint committee" to come up with rules for legalizing pot. [Coffee]

Like a said awhile back, the reason they are pushing so hard for disarmament here in Colorado is because they are legalizing weed. Firearms, and illegal drugs (fed level) can't go hand in hand). They stand to make more money for the state by taxing weed, than they would from firearm and firearm accessories. Magpul will be a short term memory ,pun intended, for these douche bags once the money starts rolling in from the weed sales....

I doubt it.
I'd be willing to bet that there are more violent crimes committed with alcohol and firearms then marijuana and firearms as contributing factors.

They are pushing for disarmament because they can. Weed has nothing to do with it.
The main obstacle to weed in CO as any other state is the profit / revenue taken in. Unless the feds decriminalize it, no matter what O says, Look for the IRS to act like they are in CA, declaring profit as Ill gotten gains.

We're all gun users here, but I really don't know how many pot users there are here....at least, willing to admit it.
I'm nowhere near the bottom level of chronic user, I might herb it a few times a month on a weekend. Only smoke it when I've nowhere to go, or anything important to do.
Nobody who smokes herb wants to hurt anyone, they just want to chill on the couch and eat a snack. Alcohol on the other hand.... I bet I could drink a 6 pk. in an hour, and drive better than most of the pulses that unfortunately hold a driving license in the first place. There are a lot of fucked up things in the world, like messing with A2, but bashing the casual herb enthusiast shouldn't be on your list. And it certainly doesn't have anything to do with banning weapon/accessories.
Perhaps focus more on the Lib Pole Smokers for causing gun bans and the like, and passing special pole smoker laws when the voters of this state refused several times. Two thirds of voters oppose the gun law horse shit going on..... let us vote on it, don't Lib force shit because you can, because too many blind shitbags voted for this pres and local officials. Really nice that Giffords hubby and her came up here to meddle in our own affairs, fantastic.
wtf anyways?

All these fags voted for CHANGE, and now they're getting it.
I can't believe that many fags voted for it TWICE
again...wtf?
Attitudes like that are exactly what put the democrats in power.

Pretty much sums it up... kinda feels like bizzaro world around here these days. "No dude, it's totally cool that you marry your boyfriend, smoke some grass, and all that... woah! Guns!? Get out of here with the deviant behavior!" Not saying I don't believe in liberty, I'm all for the ending of the moronic drug war, but you can't pick and choose how much liberty people can have, it's pretty much all or nothing.
I voted for it.
Fuck the government to tell anyone what they can or cannot do!
You are from Boulder after all... [Coffee] I have the same belief, especially when it comes to firearms... "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!" Doesn't get any more clear than that.
