View Full Version : Wienerschnitzel in Denver
There is a hot dog restaurant chain called Weinerschnitzel that is popular west of the Rockies. Their location map shows three locations in the Denver area but they don't have addresses for them. Anyone know if there actually is a location in Denver? If yes, where?

Jim's Burger Haven makes a burger pretty close to the Whataburger style.

I think there's one near 84th and Washington. Sounds good, so I'll go check before work.
And I completely agree with Whataburger

Oh, man THIS!
I've never eaten at a Wienerschnitzel, but there are several good places around here to get a good bratwurst. Helga's comes to mind, or Bender's Brat Haus. I still haven't found a decent schnitzel anywhere near Denver though.

The last good thing to come out of Kommiepornia was Ronald Reagan. All else out there is fecal matter. [UZI]

Closed. It's some kind of New Mexico Burrito joint now.

Pretty sure this is the WalMart parking lot. I don't remember seeing anything here but a retaining wall.
There is one in the area, on the SE corner of S. Broadway and E. Dartmouth Ave. Google Map (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=39.660354,-104.987379&ll=39.660289,-104.98754&spn=0.006839,0.00898&sll=39.660457,-104.987381&layer=c&cbp=13,172.37,,0,-6.48&cbll=39.660471,-104.987408&t=m&z=17&panoid=HSrjDjpg2rUAozpHeeOdrA)

Wow blast from the past! I thought they went out of business decades ago. There was a Wienerschnitzel in my home town but it shut down in the early 80's.

Spoken like the true innout-uninitiated!
Never been to a Weinerschnitzel. I have been to that Hamburger Stand, not too bad for a cheap burger. Better than Griff's.
Drifters down in Colorado Springs is a close clone of In-And-Out. Head east on GOG Rd. under a mile from I-25, just past the RR bridge on the right.
Had a local burger joint in my home town in OK that I still go to every time I go back there, called Lottaburger. Best fuckin' burgers in the world.
There was a place here on 44th called Tami's Burger Haven that I thought was pretty damn good, at least they made the kind of burgers that I liked. Closed now, it's a damn Pho soup slophouse now.
I've tried Whataburgers a few times, always thought they were too dry.
I'm currently a fan of Freddy's Steakburgers, although they mash the meat a little too thin. But they taste great. Outstanding frozen custard too.
5 Guys - burger was OK I guess, too sloppy. And they give you STUPID amounts of french fries. Just way outta hand.
Smashburger - OK I guess.

There's a hot dog place outside of Chicago near where my dad grew up called Gene and Judes. The place is packed 24 hours a day. I saw it was voted best hotdog in the country on some food channel show within the past year. Anyone ever been there?

The dogs come with relish, onion, mustard, and the french fries right on the steamed bun. No ketchup. The place is amazing. I don't know why it's so tasty. I've been to the vienna hotdog place close to Casa Bonita and it's not even close.
Weinerschnitzel is 49 Cent Hamburger Stand in Colorado, Same exact Chili on the dogs as Cali (Chili-Cheese Dog mmmmm)
Well it looks like I have a few places to check out next time I am up in denver. Thx.
For you In/Out lovers, Freddy's California cheeseburger is almost close to the taste. Once you get over the weird paper thin beef patties it's pretty good. I do miss the animal fries though. Always have to stop in Santa Barbara on the way to VAFB.

i dont understand the in-n-out love...its alright at best but those Cali folk sure do love them
When it comes to the in and out vs fatburger, thing fatburger wins it IMO. Coney Island up in Bailey has been a place I go to every so often since I was a child. Crave Real burgers is up high on the list of burger joints IMO. If you haven't had it, you owe it yourself. Tried Cherry Cricket once and wasn't impressed. If your looking for a quick burger Smash Burger is quite good as well.
