I have been wanting to put a handstop on my TROY TRX for a while to keep with the low profile look of the rifle. The only one I could find that was designed to attach directly to the rail was the one from IWC. It is a good piece but not exactly what I wanted and I didn't want to pay $40 for it. I tried putting a small piece of rail on the handguard and tried the AFG and a couple vertical grips I have but still was not happy. So...I decided to make my own.
I used a Magpul Speedplate for a Glock magazine. I used a Dremel tool to remove the lip on the leading edge and to form the radius to match the handguard. I drilled a hole in the center of it and used standard hardware to attach it to the rail. It is lightweight and works well and I like the looks of it. I have seen others use the mag extensions but have never seen anyone use these before.
