Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up. A sizeable volunteer group of local Colorado bloggers and grassroots activists have joined together to cover the DNC. For anyone who is fleeing Denver because of next week's invasion, you can check out: People's Press Collective (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org). They're shooting video, shooting photos, and blogging comments and articles. They'll be there to provide viewers the breaking news that sometimes gets cut from newsrooms. They'll give you coverage of parties, parades, and protests.
Today they dropped by the Pepsi Center for a look around and captured DNC employees washing chalk messages from anti-abortion protestors. Video is up on the site and headline reads, "DNC washes away free speech."
Democrats believe your rights to free speech end when you disagree with them.
With the DNC going on, I don't plan on getting much further north than Arapahoe Rd.
don't tread on me.. but it's ok if I tread on you.
I don't think I can get to work my usual way with the libtards messing things up. I think I'll work from home monday, see how messed up things get.
I'll be camping out on the parking garage at Auraria so I can take photos as the S Hs TF...
Then I'll make a tactical escape by dead sprinting down the street to the light rail station and waiting 5 minutes for the train...

I still can't believe they're going to close a major highway in a major city on a workday during rush hour for 5+ hours.WTF
I work in the big brown building with the big blue sign downtown....A lot of us are working next week mostly out of morbid curiosity.
I heard one group is going to set up "checkpoints" around town so that "citizens can understand what life in Iraq is like". [ROFL1]
A guy I ride the light rail with is a welder at the Mint. They're reinforcing the fence around the Mint - he said the guy from Recreate68 sent an email to the head of the Mint stating "we are going to shake the change out of the Mint"
The last Democratic convention had 1,500 protesters total. I doubt we'll exceed that. Talk's cheap these days.

People's Press Collective was out at the Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice showdown this morning. Both groups were protesting and counterprotesting. Check out the video and images (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org).
Also, breaking news... the Obamessiah's cross has been stolen (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org/2008/08/obamessiahs-cross-stolen/)!
Denver's my long-ago native hometown and this is pathetic! How come the "Black Jesus" couldn't go to San Fran or some other place?
On a good note, when I heard "BIDEN" last night, I about fell off the couch! [ROFL1]
Good luck Denver-ites and we have your southern flank!

I know some libtards (ghasp, yah I know) and one was saying last night that during the WTO meetings that the FBI had counted some 200 anarchists at the event. As of yesterday they had counted 500 in Denver.
Apparently Recreate'68 blocked off access to the Pepsi Center for a while.

I'd love for that group to show the behind the scenes BS. Like the fact they want to use corn based drinking cups during all the televised crap. They will claim they are easily broken down in the landfills. But working for Pepsi, they only break down quicker if they are in the direct sunlight. Now which lib is going to spend a few days at the landfill making sure those cups are left on top? Otherwise they are the same as paper cups.
Oh ya, it's just the perception they care that matters. All their drinks will be coming in plastic bottles anyway. If they really cared about the environment, they would skip the cups all together and recycle every bottle.

People's Press Collective (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org) was down at the capital today and got lots of outrageous video and pics. Of course there was the Hate America, Anti-War Protest (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org/2008/08/dnc-anti-war-protest-early-hours/) today and also some Patriots who crashed it with their own pro-troop rally (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org/2008/08/patriots-crash-the-anti-war-protest-with-a-rally-of-their-own/) (really cool).
Also, they were down in the trenches with live coverage of the showdown between the law enforcement officers and the protestors (http://www.peoplespresscollective.org/2008/08/standoff-at-the-capitol/) at around 3:00.
Tomorrow isn't expected to be too heated, but Tuesday's theme is open borders and Denver can expect some major protests from la Raza and the like.
If you guys are intersted, I'll continue posting end-of-the-day summaries with links to the most interesting stories.
HAHA! WOW!!! Those videos were crazy! Im SOOOO glad I have no need to go down there at all! Unfortunately my mother works downtown a few blocks from the federal building and will be commuting via lightrail all week. poor soul!
Ditto, my mom works on 16th & Blake...
Pay attention guys and gals...

Did you see the Fox News reported and camera man pushed around by "progressive" protesters. All the while the reporter is saying, say anything you want into the camera and microphone ... we are trying to report your side.
They responded with, we don't want you here.
Cindy Sheehan jumped towards the camera and says that she wants Fox News there reporting the protesting....
Then again she is running for public office and love any camera.
Just heard a Guy on the radio,,, I'm going out for the foil now..[ROFL1]
Wow,, I'm really completely at a loss,,,
I'm already sick of the coverage. Turned on the local news this morning. DNC, DNC, DNC, DNC, DNC, oh yeah, there were 3 tornados in the area yesterday, DNC, DNC, DNC, DNC...
They were desperately trying to find protestors. The best they could come up with were some in the cage over by the Pepsi Center that had arranged their sleeping bags arranged in a peace symbol.
The only thing I'll be able to watch on TV will be the stuff I'm recording on the DVR.
Is it over yet?[Bang]
RTD security mightve found a 2ft + pipe bomb at one of the stations...
any word on that pipe bomb ridge? what station? what jurisdiction?

I find it unnecessary that the DNC convention is on ABC, CBS, NBC and many, many cable channels.
I find it disturbing that in September the coverage of the Rupublican convention will be ignored.

Probably just a bouquet of flowers somebody sent to her to show their love.
I seriousley doubt anybody that meant harm to the douche bag would have used a pipe bomb.
I guess all the terroists went from HE to pipe bombs for the DNC....[ROFL2]

I hope that I'm not highjacking this thread sicne this pertains to the primary Dem candidate for POTUS, but...
Did anyone else either hear the rumor or see BO make a comment this weekend that the U.S. needs to model our nation after China?
This is something a fella at work told me and he isn't usually given to talking about something unless it's from a credible (alright, network news---credible is really stretching it) source.
I'd just like to know if anyone else has had heard of this.
