I know there was some media attention about shotguns that could be banned under the magazine law.

I"ve read a few different versions of the bill but I'm still unclear on what the ultimate decision on shotguns was?

I'm specifically interested in a bullpup shotgun that carries 15 rounds. I don't have the cash for it now but I'm unsure if it will be affected by the magazine ban.

8 for the magazine fed shotguns.

The shotgun I'm looking at might be problematic. It is the UTAS-15. It has two 7 round non-detachable tubes. There's a switch that allows you to either select a specific tube or allow the shotgun to alternate between the two tubes.

Actually the amendment changed it from 8 shells to 28" of shells for tubular mags, including any extensions. 8 for detachable box mags.

Buy it before the ban and don't sweat it.

Technically, that is 2 separate magazines so you're good to go . . . but keep an attorney on retainer if you plan on taking it to a range to shoot it.

Watch some reviews of the UTAS before you buy. FPS Russia broke 3 in his review.

The legal advice flies on here, both attorneys I spoke with said you are wrong. Yes, the workding in these bills reeks, but that is part of their intent.
