I work at a gun store temporarily and I can't stand what I'm hearing. I've heard all these Fudd's come in and say how the anti-gun legislation doesn't bother them. One faggot told me his thurdy-thurdy is all he needs. I replied that that was great for him but why does he want my AK's gone. His response was that mine was a murder machine. [Bang] He asked who I was planning on killing. All I could say was armed vigilance is liberty's teeth.
Any FUDD stories gents? I'm not trying to fan the flames of distension, but there is a large segment of gun owners who don't care about the real meaning of the 2A.

Listened to a guy say the ACLU would fight for us.
No stories here but that's unbelievable that you hear them at from people willingly at a gun store.

You should tell them instead about the background check law, both the local one and Schumer's in the US Senate, and how that will make it illegal for him to loan his own spouse a gun for her protection. And make it a crime for him to borrow another person's gun to plink with.

Yup! Some of the people that would come in and tell me I was an idiot for owning a "toy" before all the shit hit the fan. Once it did hit the fan, he came in at the height of the panic, and offered me $4k for all my AR gear. I told him maybe $4k for the gun and one GI mag, but nothing else. He left [Coffee]
I applaud you- I would have knocked that guy the hell out! I believe you get your ass kicked for saying something like that!
I had a guy a couple weeks ago, Fudd McFudderfuck, say "Doesn't really matter what they do, I only own a 1911 and 12GA pump. What do you need a combat rifle for anyway?" I wanted to hit him. I said "You, your family, the government, anyone, cannot decide what I need, only I can decide for myself what I need."

Now that I think about it, if that's truly the case, it should mean even more people will have to buy their own guns so as not to worry about the vagaries of the new law...and that should be a good thing for the numbers on our side.

It's amazing how many people treat our Constitution with such disregard!?! We have seen this coming for a long time though with the dumbing down of our students in government-run public schools. My kids get no more than a day or two of teaching on the US Constitution but get days upon days of teaching in tolerance for other people.

Yeah. When I was watching the live testimony on the House bills. There were these two dorks from Colorado Hunters for Gun Control. Or some dumb ass thing like that. One of them was up there sniffling and acting like he was going to just bust into tears. I get that the rampages were a bad thing. No argument there.
I just could not for the life of me figure out their angle.
I moved here from Cali in 2000. When their bans were being debated it was the trap shooters in our club who were willing to throw everybody else under the bus to prove how "reasonable" they were. ( Just leave my Pirazzi alone! ).
Unfortunatly I'm starting to see a lot of the same thing here.
Time to start looking into Wyo. or maybe Texas.

This is the result of having warning labels on everything.
People who are so stupid as to think their hunting rifles and revolvers aren't next should have been allowed to accidentally off themselves long before they were old enough to vote.

HAHAHAHA yes! I agree with this... FUDDs, you reap what you sow.

Yeah, I was there and heard that sniveling little bitch talking. It took everything I had not to walk up and de-pants him to see if he had a pair of balls. My guess is he didn't. It just amazes me the amount of stupidity that comes out of certain gun owner's mouths during times like this. As Ronin put it, Fudd McFudderfuck apparently is rampant among us.

Waiting in line at blue core before it opened one morning and some jackass with a bag full of handguns was arguing that no one needed or should have an "assault" rifle. A few guys tried to set him straight. Stupid idiot..

"It's not a conspiracy theory if it's true...it IS a conspiracy." My school which gets around 3% of it's funding from the state is very liberal. It is the big picture of not having both sides of the story in our schools. If they devoted the same amount of time to the Constitution, laws, liberties etc, as they do about preaching tolerance and teaching about all of the bad things that the US government has done, then I would be fine with it. It is the downpour of only liberal thinking that is ruining our edcuation institutions and perpetuating these sorts of things.</p>

Ok someone define FUDD for the slow guy.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fudd
The slang term for gun owners of what could be called limited tastes. They are thought of as being casual gun owners and nut true supporters of the Second Amendment. These are the guys that Diane Feinstein is talking about when she talks about acceptable gun ownership.
Two characteristics normally identify a FUDD.
#1: Very limited range of shooting interests. A FUDD could have just 1 gun, or more than 153 guns, but all those guns fall within a very limited range of interests. The interest that defines a FUDD is "sporting purposes". All their 12 ga wood and blued steel shotguns, bolt action rifles, 44 magnum revolvers, and 9mm pistols only have one purpose: sport. These guns are either for hunting, or they are for marksmanship and trap competitions. Nothing they have is supposed to take the role of a dedicated defense gun, or a daily carry gun. They wouldn't be caught dead with anything black polymer, tactical, or concealable. If you ask them why they own guns, the typical answer is for hunting or for sport. If you ask them about personal defense, expect either half-assed answer about a shotgun loaded with birdshot, or just calling the Police.
#2: Provincialism in applying the Second Amendment. By the estimation of a FUDD, the Second Amendment exists to let him hunt deer, shoot quail, play trap, and punch targets. They will likely talk about how nobody needs an "assault weapon" or anything like that. FUDD type sentiment is what brought about the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban, as well as many other ultimately pointless laws. The FUDD does not care so long as they can keep their M1903a3 Springfield and their custom Beretta double-barreled shotgun. They are willing to sacrifice other sections of the gun community to save themselves.
Wonder which gun shop this was. I've seen a lot of this at my local, too... Quote, exactly: "It don't bother me none, ain't nobody comin' for my ol' goose stick." -- Sure, there, Paw, until some lunatic decides to emulate the DC Sniper, and then suddenly your "ol goose stick" is suddenly a "high powered sniper rifle". Which serves ONLY ONE PURPOSE, and that's to murder babies from 100m away, or .... something.

I used to laugh when my (at the time 13 yo) would shoot circles around a 100 yd target with my Yugo AK while a Fudd with his 3k Weatherby could not hit the broadside of a bull in a barn. One actually asked how I could let my kid shoot "one of them damn things"...I just told him "he's out shooting you aint he"?
The fucks are too stupid to realize they are next.........

Comes from Elmer Fudd, of Bugs Bunny fame. He only owns a shotgun, only owns it for hunting, and doesn't conceive of guns for any other use.
I have a buddy with the same mentality. what got to him was actually a little bit of what the future looked like.
I asked if he thought that "the government" was planning on stopping there? and did he think that his kids would have easy access to the guns he hunts with? or his grandkids?
The thought of the possibility that his kids couldn't enjoy hunting like he has, or that his grandkids will not have the same opportunities as him is what really hit home with him

Now its "Assault rifles...
Next it will be Semi-automatic handguns
Then...
"Civilians don't need revolvers, the only thing they are good for is killing people. That is all they have ever been used for, this isn't the wild-west for God's sake."
its honestly not that much of a leap

So did he change his tune? Or did he just steel his resolve to sell out everyone except him and his ilk so he can keep his long range sniper rifle ?

I had to look up fudd before I got this far into the thread. I noticed that zumbo is also an effective way to describe fudds... lol.
I'd be kinda surprised to find fudds here due to the fact that the boards name is really pretty clear about the likeliness of "assault rifle" discussions quite probably taking place within it.
Hell, maybe they are that stupid...I dunno.

The brother and I were watching Doomsday Preppers the other night and I came to a realization... Forget prepping and spending 100's of 1,000 of $$$ on bunkers and food storage and water... I'll just be the gangs of mauraders that they are fearful of. Hey, no one said the post-apocalyptic world would be all sunshine, flowers and unicorn farts. Dog eat dog. Improvise, adapt, Darwin, shit happens, I Ching. Without gazelles the lions would starve. [Coffee]
First it's the "assault rifles"
Then the "easily concealable handguns"
Then the "high powered sniper rifles"
Finally the "street sweeper shotguns"
And eventually we'll be down to water pistols
