Thanks again for running this match.

This is a well run match, and if you're thinking of trying it out, I'd encourage you to come out and join us. This match gets you five stages, and there are enough berms to spread out the groups and keep things moving. I've seen the attendance really drop off from this match lately and am wondering why. Come on out and give it a try.

I am curious as well. This was the largest match we had for a few years, then it became eclipsed by the Carbine match. Now both are struggling to get 20 people per match. Would love to hear if anyone has any ideas. If you want to PM me, feel free as well. History has shown that once matches fall below 20, they are not going to survive very much longer. Losing any matches is not something I like to see.

I missed a lot of shooting this year, so didn't even know that the Dumont range was closed. I figured that would have bumped up attendance this year, but it doesn't look like it has.

If you live in the central part of the metro area, I think both ranges are about the same drive time. Of course Dumont is way closer for people who live in Golden, but those in Aurora would probably rather go to CRC. The regular crew up there all seem to be nice guys, so I don't think people don't show up because we're a bunch of jerks or anything. Larger matches tend to be more reliable as well since there are more range officers to go around when people have things come up.

Matches are kicking off again in April. Since we don’t have much staff (this is a volunteer sport, so if you want to help out please let us know) tossing together last minute matches is unfortunately not in the cards.

We do look forward to gwtting the season rolling again though and having some fun!

We have a bit of an issue with the April match we have to change the date to 4/21/19 - We know its Easter Sunday, but the range is closed on our normal match day for work bond activities. Instead of canceling the match we have decided to have an Easter Classifier.

We will set up the 5x5 and the PCC classifiers. They are very fast and you can be in and out and back home for Easter activities in no time!

Hello everyone!

I know we're all anxious to get back to shooting some matches, but unfortunately we're going to have to wait a little longer. Colorado Rifle Club has recently re-opened to its membership, but organized events are still on hold through at least April 26 (per the governor's Stay at Home Order and CRC policy). As a result, ECOIDPA will not be able to host our April match as planned. Also, the May match conflicts with the Wilson Combat Rocky Mountain Regional Championship in Cameo, where many of our staff and membership are registered to compete. Looks like June will be our month to get fired back up. Hope to see you all then! Stay safe!

With the recent postponement of the RM Regional Championship originally planned for Memorial Day weekend, we were hopeful we'd be able to host our first match of the season at CRC. Under the recently updated guidelines for match administration at CRC, we do not feel we can host a quality match at this time. We will continue to keep track of status on a month-by-month basis until we can get back to something more closely resembling normal operation.

The Colorado Rifle Club has recently clarified a few details with regards to match administration that will allow us to proceed with our first match of 2020 next weekend! However, there are some important limitations we will need to observe.

First and foremost, we need to reinforce the requirements of social distancing. Face coverings will be required to participate and we will need everyone's help maintaining good separation throughout the match, beginning as soon as you exit your vehicle. Please allow extra time for registration, as it will take a little longer under these conditions. There can be no more than 10 people in any bay at any time. No exceptions. This includes shooters and staff.

We will not be holding a dedicated shooter's briefing, but our SO teams will conduct one on their starting bays. We will discuss these requirements at the Safety Officer walkthrough prior to the start of the match.

Also, we will not be conducting a New Shooter Briefing, so we will not be able to accommodate any new shooters. You MUST have shot with us at least once in the past to participate in this match. No Exceptions.

Reservations will be required to ensure we do not exceed participant limits required by the Club. Please RSVP to me directly via email at jethomas303@gmail.com or via the Facebook ECOIDPA page/messenger and include any squadding requests you may have.

Lastly, please consider coming out early to help set up stages. Being our first match of the season, it's important to make sure we get off to a good start. Hopefully the current situation improves as we work our way through the summer. But until then, let's please make sure we're all doing our part to ensure we're able to continue hosting the high quality matches we've come to expect.

For our last match of the year, we are going to attempt to run the IDPA National Championship Postal Match. It looks like a really fun match and you get to see how you stack up against shooters from all over the world without having to stray too far from home!

The match will run the same as our normal matches with a few minor exceptions. First off, if you want your scores to be uploaded to the IDPA website, you must have a current IDPA membership and classification (in the division you plan to shoot) and there will be an extra $15 fee to collect at registration time. This fee goes directly to IDPA HQ to pay for match administration, awards, etc. and is in addition to our local club fee. Second, while the match only consists of five stages, the setup required is much more labor intensive than we are used to. Everything must be meticulously measured and placed so that we ensure the consistency of the stages. For this reason, I have reserved the berms for the day before the match (Friday, 10/23) to start setup. I will be there starting at 8:00am and intend to get all of the layout and major props in place so that we can put on the finishing touches Saturday morning and start shooting on time.

To make this match happen, I will need a few bodies on Friday to help with the initial phase of setup. I'll provide water/gatorade and will figure out something for lunch. You'll also get a discount on your match fee.

Please let me know if you are available to help. I am not preparing backup stages, so if we can't make this happen, there won't be a match.

Per our last email, for our final match of 2020, we are setting up to run the IDPA National Postal Match this weekend. This will run the same as a normal monthly match with a few minor exceptions. Hello everyone! I hope you all have had a fantastic year so far. We are planning to host our first match of the season next Saturday, April 23. We'll have four great stages plus the 5x5 Classifier (you'll get two runs). No restrictions, no pre-registration, just show up and shoot (and hopefully help setup!). All the usual details are below, but I want to point out one change for this season going forward.

As you are probably aware, Colorado Rifle Club requires all visitors (i.e. non-members) to sign a liability release waiver before their first visit each year. We typically have you sign a paper form during match registration, but CRC has now made available a digital version of this waiver. Before arriving, please visit the link below and get the waiver out of the way (you should just go do it right now before you forget!). It's super easy and keeps me from having another stack of paper to deal with! And you only have to do it once per year. Please save a copy on your phone to be produced upon request.

Hello everyone! April is here and we are ready to get going. We have some great stages planned for this weekend, and we will also be shooting the annual 5x5 classifier. There's a slight chance of weather at the moment but we will be monitoring the situation as we get closer. Check back Friday for updates, but if you don't hear anything by Friday night assume we are good to go.
