State Senate Democratic President John Morse, of Colorado Springs, is facing a recall effort for his support of controversial gun control laws.
On Friday the Basic Freedom Defense Fund (BFDF) formed a local committee for recalling Morse, the group claims around sixty-volunteers representing state organizations and local businesses have pledged support for the campaign. The effort was inspired by several laws proposed by democrats that would put tighter restrictions on guns including expanded background checks and limits on ammunition magazines.
"That's why politicians around the country don't want to stand up for this issue, but this is a political hill in my view that's worth dying for so that we can make sure others don't die literally at the point of a gun," Morse said on Sunday. "I wasn't expecting things to get this divisive, I really thought that after Sandy Hook even the NRA recognized we've got to do something, we can't leave it exactly where it is with the status quo and claim that's leadership."
Morse was specifically targeted because of a measure he proposed that would hold owners of "assault weapons" liable for damages caused by their guns. That bill has since been withdrawn, but that hasn't stopped the BFDF from trying to remove Morse.
"It really made a lot of people upset, it's an afront to the Second Amendment, it's an afront to the Constitution and it's an afront to the oath that he took," explained BFDF Spokesperson Anthony Garcia.
Garcia said the recall effort is not a political stunt, the group has already filed a petition calling for the recall of State Representative Michael McLachlan (D - Durango) over the gun issue.
"If Senator Morse feels that way he might want to give Mike McLachlan a call," said Garcia.
The Basic Freedom Defense Fund hopes to file the recall petition with the Secretary of State within the next week.
Just post that you made a large donation to BFDF.....see how long that lasts! It is on. There a lot of hard working people making this happen. There are alliances forming behind the scene...stay tuned next week. BFDF is providing the public with a baseball bat...I hope they pick it up and swing it as hard as they can!

I'll be in as a foot soldier for the cause once the paperwork is filed even though I'm not in his district.
I can't make it but FYI for those who can, an email from the guy leading the recall. I haven't checked with him (just got home) but he says pass it along:
Volunteers, patriots, and mere constituents whose emails Senator John Morse will not read,
Our first planning meeting as a Recall John Morse group will be this weekend on Sunday, March 17 from 3:00-5:00pm MT. It will be at the Multipurpose Facility which is near Galley and Powers. The MPF is 1025 Ford St at the corner of Galley and Ford St. across Ford St. from Camp Bow Wow. It is east of Powers on the north side of Galley just about where the hill begins its incline. Use mapquest or googlemaps to obtain directions.
Our agenda is to provide everyone information about the current status of the recall petition and our high level plan for recalling Senator John Morse. We will then organize the appropriate groups to help accomplish that task. Many, many things need to be done and we need everyone’s help whether it is 2 hours a week sitting in front of a store collecting signatures or much more time helping organize petition gathers, respond to emails, talk to store owners or other like-minded groups, etc., etc. We will do a little brainstorming, so bring your ideas.
If you know someone who is interested in helping but they have not signed up yet, that’s okay. Bring them along. Or pass this information along to them so that they can come and help.
While this is short notice, things have been moving at light speed in order to get where we are currently. Please come out and help us remove a Senator who refuses to listen to his constituents and continues to push unconstitutional bills down upon the citizens of this great western state. You can make a difference. Thanks.
PS – for those who may live outside of Colorado Springs and are not able to come to the meetings for recalling Morse, please let me know if you want to be removed from the email distro list regarding these notifications. I thought you might want them so that you could pass the information along.

Advise if I should pull this down or not. A bit ont the fence if it could be used by the other side but since the original Broadmoor meeting was publicly announced I figured it won't be an issue. (the whole loose lips sinks ships issue)

I believe so. Hopefully that will be verified soon and I can pass it on. I'm not in his district but in CSprings so I'm willing to still at a table and gather signatures.

The petition signatures have to be in his district; allegedly they will be verified. They need a total of 7,178 signatures to file the petition.

Just got back from the Tanner. There was a guy with a table soliciting volunteers for the recall efforts for Morse, McLachlan, and Hudak. I signed up to help with the Hudak recall effort. However, hoping to have a shot at Jones, my stupid libtard senator.

Just imagine if we used the same antics the libtards use. One household would have us 1/3 of the way to the required numbers
