This is great news...
Justice Scalia- for those that don't know- was one of the justices behind the Heller decision:

Conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, decrying America’s demonization of guns, is predicting that the parade of new gun control laws, cheered on by President Obama, will hit the Supreme Court soon, possibly settling for ever the types of weapons that can be owned.Scalia, whose legacy decision in the 2008 case of District of Columbia vs. Heller ended the ban on handguns in Washington, D.C., suggested that the Constitution allows limits on what Americans can own, but the only example he offered was a shoulder-launched rocket that would bring down jets.

To highlight one of the cases expected (descriptions are not my words) and one hopeful:
1. Kachalsky v. Cacase- a case which would get rid of “may issue” licensing and seal the right to carry a firearm for personal protection.
2. Dywinski v NY- NY SAFE ACT challenge- but not too likely.

Best we might be able to hope for from 2. is scotus setting a high bar for the legislature to prove its restrictions are necessary and not achievable any other reasonable measure. Kind of like the way pornography restrictions are currently applied to first amendment rights:

Something like SAFE would fail the unreasonable restriction.

Timing could be crucial. Right now we would hope for a 5-4 decision in our favor.

Depending on when exactly the court would view them, the makeup could have swung away from us. Hopefully the justices on the side of the Constitution will maintain sway long enough to:

1. Still be in the majority under Marxist-Muslim Obama;
2. Still be in the majority until a non-Marxist POTUS is elected;
3. Still be in the majority when a non-Marxist POTUS appoints a new justice nominee.
