Skier Lindsey Vonn tweeted Monday (https://twitter.com/lindseyvonn) that she is indeed dating golfer Tiger Woods.
"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a ..." Vonn tweeted. The rest she posted to Facebook, along with a photo (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151508174969728&l=a427064e7f):
"from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV"
Shortly after Vonn's tweet, Woods tweeted (https://twitter.com/search?q=tiger%20woods&src=typd), "Just posted some pictures of @Lindseyvonn and me on Facebook."
On his Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Tiger)he wrote,:
"This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
Vonn injured her right knee Feb. 5 racing super-G on the opening day of the world alpine championships in Schladming, Austria, and had surgery to repair it five days later in Vail. Crashing hard coming off a jump at 50-60 mph, Vonn ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament, and the tibial plateau was fractured.
She has said she plans to be ready to defend her Olympic downhill title (http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_22646738/lindsey-vonn-expresses-no-doubt-chances-defending-olympic) in February 2014 in Sochi, Japan.
Vonn won the World Cup downhill title (http://www.denverpost.com/snowsports/ci_22783405/lindsey-vonn-wins-world-cup-downhill-title-after) March 13, her 17th World Cup title.
Woods was golf's most dominant player before 2009 when it became know that he had engaged in multiple extramarital affairs. He and his wife divorced. He made public apology on live television and said he was taking an indefinite break from golf.
After returning to the sport, Woods went two years without winning, but his game is back on track and he is ranked No. 2 in the world (http://espn.go.com/golf/rankings). Woods won a tournament in San Diego in January.
In February he played golf with President Barack Obama (http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22610214/tiger-woods-joins-vacationing-obama-golf-round)in Florida.
