Just picked it up. Started with a $250 700ADL, Lothar Walther barrel, gunsmith cut the 7mm Rem Mag chamber and threaded for action and for the muzzle brake. Bell and Carlson light tactical stock, Vortex Viper 6.5x20x44AO scope in Weaver mounts, Kwik Clip bottom metal and bipod. Gunsmith put a nice, dark (almost black) matte blue on it. Turned out a bit heaver than I thought it would at just under 12 pounds as you see it, unloaded. I shot it at the gunsmiths just for a verification, thing kicks like a 223 or 22-250. :) Now to find time to get out and sight it in and see what it will do.

Oooohhh.... and you have been infected... welcome to the "Darkside"! [Beer]

Gotta take it out to a Prairie Dog Match... it'll be so much fun!

Nice Boom stick... did you name it yet?

No name yet, she hasn't spoken to me yet. :-P After I get her sighted in and get some loads worked up I may have to run down and play.

Very nice! I was thinking today that I trade in my 338 for a 7mag so I can play at the prairie dog match. And $250 for a builder awesome!

That turned out very nice , and quick turn around time from when you were talking about this build . Now time to work up a sweet shooting load for her . I'm too much of a woosy to put 100 rounds in a session with that stick , hope the brake tames that beast for you

Yep, happy with the time it took, would have been shorter but I looked for the stock for a couple weeks... I shot it once off hand at the gunsmiths, between the brake and the recoil pad, it's pretty impressive how little it kicks...

Can't wait to get it out and see what it will do on paper. :-)

Which brake is that?

It's a Shrewd, from Brownells. I can't say that it's more or less effective than others, since this is the first big gun I've shot with a brake. I'm not a small guy, so I don't think my other 7mm is bad, but this is going to be a pleasure to shoot.
