Just thinking, if we had Maes in Govenors office, what would be happening, or rather not happening.
no bans
no redefining deadly weapon
Magpul expanding exponentially IN STATE
more jobs more money, here

I would say, if you want a real change, want to see a drop in political corruption, time to get the GOP to fix the joke they have for a party.

Facts:
Maes won the Caucus, over McInnis, and Tancredo was ruled out before that vote by the GOP. Maes won the vote. However, Maes never got any support from the GOP. Not a single penny spent on his campaign. Polls had him balanced with Hickenlooper. Then enter Tancredo. Now I don't think Tancredo was dumb, I think he's a slimeball. He KNEW he would split the vote, but in entering, received a tremendous amount of money in campaign contributions. He didn't care about the Governors office, he cared about campaign money. Most of Tancredo's campaign was bashing Maes, including false allegations. Tancredo, because he was an establishment guy, and buddy/buddy with other GOP cronies, got them backing him as well. AGAIN, not coming out against Hickenlooper hardly, but against Maes.

I hear "vote GOP, or you're throwing your vote away" How many voted constitutional party over R in the last Governors race? Shouldn't folks have been up in arms, and down at the GOP office every day, demanding they push Maes, back Maes, go after Hickenlooper, and simply show Tancredo for what he is, a sore loser? Maes was the peoples choice, its who the caucus chose and the GOP chose never to back, despite giving their word. Thus the GOP committed political suicide in the form of the Governor. So wile we can all be mad at the D's for all this garbage legislation, make sure blame also falls where it was earned as well. Squarely on the shoulders of the GOP party. Want real solutions, start demanding accountability from the R's.

This wasn't entirely the fault of the GOP. If I recall correctly, Maes had some credibility issues after claiming he did some undercover work for a PD in Kansas. He also had some campaign finance violations (the timing and disclosure of which may have been politically motivated). I voted for Maes.

McInnis...was just a dumbass for not admitting to the plagiarism thing.

Tancredo was pretty much being Tancredo.

I would take 100 of any of them over 1 Hickenlooper. But to place the blame entirely on the republican party in the state is disingenuous with some of the shenanigans each of these guys pulled.

maes was/is an idiot and the party shouldnt have ever had him there in the first place. mcinnis and maes were caught lying/cheating. there is no good candidate, and even if we had a good governor, over 50 percent of the voting public in Colorado are still morons. And the legislature would still be dumbacrats. our state is screwed anyway. the nation is screwed. some small wins for us would just delay the inevitable.

Not putting all the blame to the GOP, but they certainly carry some of it.

The financial issue was a filing on time issue. A family member who had never done this type of accounting screwed it up. Kind of like filing your taxes April 25th. Still done, just late.

My basic point, using maes as a prefect example, is the GOP is far from perfect, and if we want this country fixed, going to have to start knocking on the door of the GOP's offices, and hammering them as bad as we've all been hammering the rep's, and gov offices with letters. I firmly believe that f we can actually get real people, not career party players, on ballots, we've won. Id put $$$ on that even D's will vote for a real person, even with an R next to their name over another career politician. Even D's want the system fixed, that is my mind was a huge reason "change" worked so well. No one cared what the change was for, they just want something different. Unfortunately most were fooled into thinking the change they voted for was actually going the direction they wanted. And no I never voted for him, just see how it was a perfect storm for the setup.

Nice try, but that poll was taken before Maes was shown to be a fraud & Dumb ass. Btw, is dumb ass 2 words, 1 word or hyphenated. Never can remember. Need to take a look at my last performance review. Anyways, Maes had some serious credibility issues.

Brian, if you ever have a desire to read Maes' self published (couldn't get anyone to do it, so he did it himself) autobiography, let me know. I have a copy of it. It confirmed my belief that he was an egotistical ass with delusions of grandeur. Luckily, I only paid a couple of bucks for it through half.com, otherwise I would have been angry at giving Maes any money for the privilege of reading his drivel.

Dan Maes is a FUDD. He thinks militia only applies to military. And also felt some firearms should be restricted.

Maes also, IIRC, caught some donations from Tim Gill and Pat Stryker. They tried to cover their tracks, but not well.

When a supposed Republican gets support from the likes of those two, that should be a red flag.
