Hope I got the right forum - also I did not notice upon searching....

To support Magpul, I added their MIAD grip to my M&P15A.
There is just a tiny bit of play in it forwards/backwards.
The flathead screw is definitely tight.
I'm wondering if it is bottoming out on the lower or ????

Saw a little online about this. Some say add a washer (magpul does not because of storage space) - some say use the OEM screw (mine is starting to strip).
I ordered a MAKO to see if this would be any different plus some new hardware.

Other thoughts? Anyone else have this?

Give Bert with BP Tactical a PM (see industry partners section) he can tell you what's up and a sure fire fix.

Put the Mako on with the Magpul screw....sits really tight. So, I have no idea.
Definitely likeable enough!

Add a washer in between the head of the screw and the grip?

I did...still some play.
In the end, I ended up liking the Mako better.

Having said that, since I had this MIAD on hand - I tried and it fit perfectly with no play on a DD lower. Go figure.
Except now I think I like the Mako better. [facepalm]

Cut the screw shorter, it is likely tightening in the lower and not on the grip

Yeah, I suspect you are correct that it was bottoming out on the lower. It looked like it was drilled and tapped all the way through, but that was just a naked eye quick look - I didn't test it.
All's well in the end. :)
