While I strongly believe in everybodies right to do their own thing, I was just wondering what's up with all of the folks I've seen lately with no location information in either their profile or signature block (if they use one).

I've been seeing more and more folks who offer "FTF" activities or ask for "local" information but since they don't provide their locale I never know if they are around Denver (most probably), Ft Collins, Colo Spr, or even Grand Junction (didn't want to leave you folks out of this).

Is it just an oversight, or do folks have specific reasons not to provide this info?

I'm not looking to flame or start a flaming war, I'm just looking for enlightenment (how very Zen of me; eh?!).

Thanks.

Good question I wonder that myself sometimes. I mean it's not like somebody can locate you with an address of Denver.

I use the same location information on every forum that I post on. Be it local or national. Never gave it much thought before.

lol no offence pickenup but i was before i got to your post i was going to put up an example of "Rocky Mountains" as being a little too vauge![ROFL2]

Either way. I do dig knowing that there may somebody in my general area with a wealth of knowledge, and usualy the easiest, least intruding way to find that out is through their PUBLIC profile! I dont condone anybody puting there address in, and if somebody lives down here in the Highlands Ranch, I think it is totally ok to put in "denver" as your location. Just makes it easier having a ballpark of where i may be meeting somebody for a transaction or if somebody needs some help with a firearm!

Fair enough. I like my privacy as a default approach, but I've posted enough that anyone can piece together the general area I've added to my Location setting.

bjl913,
None taken.
Just because we have the Rocky Mountains running from the top of the state to the bottom, you think mine is a bit vague, when we are talking local? [ROFL3]

I would have to agree with ya.

Changed it.
