Though I have been reloading handgun and rifle ammo for quite a long time, I am a newbie when it comes to shotguns and shotshell reloading. Since I am not committed to shotshell reloading just yet, I am buying loaded ammo and then collecting the spent hulls. Is there a market for selling spent hulls to reloaders? If so, are there specific features of the hulls that reloaders look for?

I don't load shotgun. I remember a guy telling me once that Winchester AA's are gold. Many can't be reloaded.

The most popular among trap, skeet, and sporting clay shooters are the tapered 1 piece hulls like the Rem STS and Win AA. Fed GMs are also popular but are a straight walled hull. If you can find loading data for particular hulls you can reload them. Ballistic Products has alot of info on most of the euro hulls. Many waterfowl hunters like the straight walled 2 piece hulls such as the Fiocchi and cheddites for their increased case capacity when loading steel shot non-tox waterfowl loads.

Remi STS, Nitro's, Win AA and to a lesser extent Remi Gun Club hulls are usually what the Trap and Skeet shooters buy, if you are looking for a market to sell. You can get alot more for .410 and 28ga hulls versus 12ga and 20ga, because there are lot less on the market. You can equate hulls from bulk packs (win, fed) similar to steel cased ammo, you can load them but why would you want to, so there really is no market for them.
