“You wait, in five years, the technology is getting better, they’ll be cameras every place,” Bloomberg said during his weekly radio appearance. “Get used to it — whether you like it or not.”

Anyone here remember when we lived in a free nation?
but we're just watching to protect you from the bad guys.
Oh man and that chick, flag her.

That's why I can't stand that SOB, the attitude.
I think the man is a mental tool
They do have those cameras in London all over the place when I was there last. They use them for 'crime-fighting" yet most are still unsolved.

Huh? Maybe they don't work as well as they think...[pileoshit]

Bloomturd can suck my nutz. I cannot wait for the day he leaves office. Hopefully he never gets to be more than a mayor.
Orwell was only off by a decade or two.
-more than half of the comments at the bottom of that article agree with this. The people have been told it's in their best interest and they've been conditioned to believe what they are told.

Take a look around you, there are cameras all around already. Pretty much ALL of downtown Colorado Springs have them on the corners. Some actually have signs, sone don't.

If Bloomberg died of natural causes I'd thank the heavens. That man is a tyrant and his wealth is inexhaustible.

This goes back to the age old "Well if you have nothing to hide, why do you care?"
I heard this a lot from teachers growing up ... what a crock of shit. What if I don't want you to know everything I do and everywhere I go.
Soon we'll be forced to turn the Find my Friends app on our iPhones and let the police see it whenever they see fit.
Big Brother is Watching You.
has he never seen the tv show "Person of Interest"? Cameras everywhere are bad

If he died of un-natural causes I'd still thank the heavens.

yeah the camera based traffic light control. I'd rant about them if they didn't work so much better than the sensor in the ground.
The issue is more one of
ok, we're going to link all those cameras to a license plate computer.
Hey, tech increased, lets add real time facial recognition and the DL database.

The next step is "eye transplants" like in Minority Report due to all the facial/optic recognition that's out there... At what point will people say "enough is enough"?

Natural causes? Like some stabbing him in the kidney? That's what I'd celebrate.

With all his bodyguards that have handguns with mags he says no one else needs? Wouldn't get close enough unfortunately.

They use that camera and the others right there to watch Acacia Park. It's for our own good after all.

The cameras that you want to look out for are hung on power poles and are disguised as power transformers...... Or at least so I have heard........[Wink]
Ginsue, I saw some at Pikes Peak and Tejon, I'm sure they were there for the safety of all the drunkards...right?

I lived in England for 3 years. Just before I moved back to CO, a report came out that said they could pay for something like 15000 extra police officers if they used the CCTV funding for cops instead of cameras.

so 1984 becomes reality...30 years later.
it's all Bentham's Penopticon concept brought to fruition. Unfortunately, his model does not account for people with 7mm, .308, 338 lapua and a desire to practice precision shooting at a 4 to 6 inch cylinder. [Beer]

The National Security Agency (http://www.ar-15.co/wiki/National_Security_Agency) (NSA) is building the $1.5 billion Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center at Camp Williams, the first in a series of data centers required for the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (http://www.ar-15.co/wiki/Comprehensive_National_Cybersecurity_Initiative).[2] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-2)[3] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-3)[4] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-construction-start-4) The 1.5 million square foot facility built on 200 acres is expected to store 1 yottabyte (http://www.ar-15.co/wiki/Yottabyte) of data by 2015.[5] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-Kenyon-5)[6] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-6)[7] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-7) The facility which is expected to be completed in October 2013 will use 65 megawatts and will cost another $2 billion for hardware, software, and maintenance.[5] (http://www.ar-15.co/#cite_note-Kenyon-5)
Camp Williams' former airfield, located on the West side of Highway 68, has been removed. Instead, the area that formerly held the airfield will now hold the National Security Agency's new data processing center, Utah Data Center (http://www.ar-15.co/wiki/Utah_Data_Center). This facility will greatly increase the NSA's ability to store and process millions of emails, IMs, SMS, and phone calls made daily by people around the world and in the United States.
The above from wikipedia. Almost every surveillance camera that is connected to a computer network has an IP address. All you need is that IP address and you can see what the camera sees! Alot of cameras along the major roads in Colorado are not on the DOT website. Think of all the home surveillance cameras, business security cameras (Walmart etc.) gas stations, airports etc. I'm sure it was pitched to Congress as a repository for monitoring terrorists communications...but think of the potential for abuse too. I will leave the rest for your imagination.
Yottabyte is 1000000000000000000000000bytes = 10008 or 1024 bytes

I wonder if the Sheriff would take the reason I need a suppressor as "I need it to shoot out all the surveillance cameras?" [Sniper]
