I was just wondering what steel (Romanian) AK mags use to cost last year. Were they super cheap (sub-$10)? Or near to $20?

I have an old Midway catalog, but all they seem to stock were the polymer mags.

Probably will want to get an AK sometime in the future, so looking that I might need to get mags now.

I got some un-issued surplus mags from them (Midway) for $10 a pop a while back. They were on sale though. Unsure what the origin was.

I just ordered 2 "good" condition steel surplus and 2 Russian polymer mags from them this week at $30 a pop.

Well before I escaped NY in July I was able to buy preban Rommy 30rdr's for around $12 shipped. Not minty ones but good worn mags and not rusted dented crap.
Now your lucky to find decent mags for less than $30.Nd forget about polys or bakies-there $50 + now.
Tapcos are the best deal for the money now at around $25 a pop.
But stay away from the North Korean ones, there poorly made and are a thinner metal which are prone to break spot welds.I wont pay $30 or more for a mag I know will split...

So, maybe I should buy a couple of steel rommy 30rnders for $19.99?

Before The Rapture, I was buying Egyptian steel 30-rndrs from AimSurplus for $15 each. They were great quality, top condition and some of the best AK mags I've ever seen. Currently at Firing Line we have Polish steel 30-rndrs for $26.95 each. That is as cheap as you will find them in the Denver metro area. Not quite as nice as the Egyptian ones, but they are solid, new, surplus mags. That may or may not answer your question.

Cool, just ordered 10 steel Rommys from Classic Arms. Hopefully I won't be wishing I ordered 30.

They have Tapcos for $11.99 (down to $8.99 if you buy 100)

Damn, I may have to stop by tomorrow.

I'm curious what these "good" condition mags I ordered from Midway will look like.

I got my mags from Midway yesterday. They are indeed in good condition. Almost as nice as the un-issued ones (they might even be). The package says they're Bulgarian. Also the Polymer mags turned out to be Bulgarian as well. Which is good because they're going into my SAM7R. They have steel reinforced feed lips too.

I remember when AIM, last year, was selling the yugo BHO for 12.95. I bought as much as I could afford.

Funny thing.. first thing I thought was when I saw this, I read it as "the yugo Before BHO for 12.95", but I guess last year wasn't BBHO.
