I'm travelling to CA next week for spring break to see family. I was planning on throwing my EDC knife in the checked suitcase so i would have it while there for a week. Does anyone on here know the blade length restrictions in CA for a folder or any other things i need to be aware of. I typically carry a Spyrderco Manix 2 info here on that model http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=418

Try this doc:
http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USKnife.pdf

Or:

BTW, if I were you, I would take a cheaper knife. I've had decent knives not make it to the other side, when in checked bags. Unless you are putting in a case with a firearm, I would take something you can easily replace once you get there (if it doesn't make it).

Thanks for this info, I will save this site. I got pulled off a NYC Subway car by a UC officer when he saw my pocket clip and was told anything over 4 inches was illegal. My S&W was 4 and 1/2 and I thought I was going to be ticketed and confiscated. He ended up being cool when he found out I was from Colorado and told me to keep the knife down in my pocket and sent me on my way.
