Me? Husband, Father, Medical Professional, Libertarian and firm believer in the Second Amendment

I am a Christian in the most boiled down sense of the word. I am not some Bible thumping Evangelical. Mostly, I feel that Christianity in this country has been co-opted by the right and turned into a political tool. On the other hand, the whole hippie-pacifist crap that is trying to take away American's Second Amendment Rights is an enormously hypocritical pile of sh*t. Pacifism is a luxury good paid for by the blood of warriors.

What I am not is a Republican or a Democrat. I am the American Political Equivalent of an atheist. I feel that Our Republic is as close to a perfect form of self governance there is. The two major political parties are essentially enormous untruths propagated by the corporations that are actually pulling the strings.

Litmus Test Issues:

The Second Amendment - Fight to preserve. Do so fiercely.

Gay Marriage - None of my f**king business. Nor is it anyone else's but the two parties involved. Take your religious dogma and stick it.

Abortion - None of my f**king business. Considering I don't have a uterus, I don't pretend to want to tell anyone else what to do with theirs. Take your religious dogma and shove it.

Drugs - Thank G*D Colorado and Washington have actually done something sensible. One again, you know where you can take your religious dogmas.

The Environment- We'd better do something. I am not a tree hugger, but simple logic and what appears to be a growing weight of scientific evidence shows something is wrong. Simply put: You don't sh*t where you eat.

Corporations- They are the one's who are seemingly calling the shots these days. I am fairly sure the major oil companies, Wall Street and the Banks own the U.S. Government. I am loathe to admit that the people may actually not do so now. When the lobbyists from the above mentioned industries are essentially writing all of the legislation in regard to their business, saying that the fox is guarding the henhouse is a quaint understatement.

Let the backlash commence,

Ransacker

Welcome. How do you feel about taxes?

Gopher Mike,

I don't have a problem paying taxes. With the deductions I get with dependents etc., I am honestly getting a pretty good deal. What I have a problem with is how my money is spent on idiotic sh*t like pensions for life for legislators and 500 million dollars in aid for Palestinians while my neighbor who gets deployed to Afghanistan probably doesn't clear 40 k a year. And yes, the rich should pay their fair share. I am a capitalist through and through, but people who have been richly blessed shouldn't have a problem paying taxes. The reason I would never be a Republican is that they have pretty much become shills for the wealthy. Sorry for the long winded answer.

I also think that people who are bitching about Obamacare and living in mansions like Papa John the Pizza guy are pussies. I don't like a lot of the things that Obamacare entails. I'm in the healthcare field. I think we have to do something to help people and to manage costs. But to have a Billionaire cut some pizza delivery guy's hours so he can't get insurance is just plain wrong. Papa John can fuck himself. I'll never eat his pizza again.[Mad]

You're right I didn't. But a lot of folks at the top seem to have a similar entitlement mentality to those at the bottom. Both ends of the spectrum seem to think those of us in the middle should pay their way.
And yes, I am sure that Papa John worked hard. I KNOW he did. But to be whining about paying taxes when you live in a mansion just reeks of the same, spoiled entitlement mentality that is killing this country.

I am not doubting this man's hard work. But let's face it, a lot of people work hard at small businesses and get nowhere. This man is also blessed/lucky (take your pick). No one ever succeeds at that level without it. I don't wish him ruin. I'm not some deluded socialist, just a working guy who is particularly irritated/amused when I listen to millionaires/billionaires complain.

I want him to pay fair share and stop whining like some spoiled little b*tch. It is unbecoming for a man in his circumstance. Sorry if I am bereft of compassion for his now dire circumstances.
