As I predicted attacks begin

It's no surprise some members of the media and especially the liberals including Senator Morse, are attempting to portray me as playing to the "extremist" of conservatives. This was obviously very predictable and expected. After deciding not to remain quiet with what I witnessed On March 4, I told my wife that the liberals will attempt to paint me as some extremist in an effort to discredit me. I fully expected it to come from those I have been critical of, primarily the leadership of the senate majority, and that is exactly what is happening. I find it disheartening they try to discredit me by labeling law abiding citizens who feel the same as I do about our constitutional rights as "extremists." It's a shame those in the senate who ignored the public during the senate hearings by manipulating the rules aren't being held accountable for their actions. They have yet to justify their actions and truly explain the inconsistencies I have pointed out related to the salary bill issue and the way citizens were treated at the Capitol. As usual, they name-call and attempt to describe and label those of us who speak out against injustices as extremists. I'm offended that Senator Morse labels citizens who disagree with his actions as extremists, and even more disappointed the media doesn't challenge him directly on behalf of the thousands of citizens he is attempting to portray in a negative light. In addition to accusing me of playing to the "extremist" which is a label that really represents law abiding citizens who believe in traditional values, I am now accused of political grand standing and using this issue to further my political future. Well, I promise the liberals are wrong! I am speaking up for what I believe in and speaking up along with thousands of citizens that feel the same as I do and those who elected me.

Senator Morse has not defended, with any degree of articulation, the gun bills he rammed through the senate. He has yet to answer why several sheriffs and others believe he is opposed to the salary bill for county elected officials, more specifically Sheriffs, and is blocking the salary bill as punishment for not supporting his ill conceived and unconstitutional legislation that infringes on law abiding citizen's rights. Even when he told one media outlet "no one" had tried to introduce a salary bill, then the very next day he told another media outlet that he "denied a request" of two of his own party members who approached him to introduce a salary bill; yet he is quoted by KRDO as saying "he would be happy to help" get a salary bill introduced. It's no surprise he points the finger at me to show proof, yet he has yet to be required to explain his own position. When I asked a KRDO reporter if she would challenge the senator on his inconsistencies and lies he told her, she said she would; that was over a week ago and nothing as of yet. He claims I've showed no clear evidence that the salary bill issue is being compromised, yet I submitted proof of others who felt and witnessed the same. He has not answered directly to any of my claims; just the typical spin, name- calling and diversionary tactics. Now Morse claims I'm playing politics to the "right wing extremists". Actually, I'm standing up for what I believe and what I took an oath to uphold. I am standing up for my electors and hard working, tax paying, law abiding citizens. I am doing it because the senate dem leadership crossed a clear line and are infringing on the people's rights. I will not back down and I will not tolerate being labeled as an extremist, nor should any of you.

By the way, when will Senator Morse be challenged by the media on his false statements and be held accountable to defend his claim that the salary bill is "politically inappropriate". Last year, he was a co-sponsor on a bill to increase his own legislator per diem rate. Does hypocrite sound appropriate?

This guy is my current all time favorite. He's straight up Honeybadger with these politicians and they don't like it. I'm pretty sure he will get any office extension he wants till he retires.

Does anyone have a link to the actual text of the Oath of Office taken by the Sheriffs in Colorado?

I keep seeing outspoken Liberal half-wits criticizing our Sheriffs by saying they are violating their oath by not upholding the law; it is obvious this is a false pretense and they're just uneducated. There is no Oath of Office with which I am familiar that swears fealty to anything other than the U.S. Constitution and sometimes also the State Constitution, but there are various versions taken by public officials in different areas; I'd just like to see the one our Sheriffs take.

Not many people have the moxie to stand up publicly for what they believe in. It's a sad day when someone not content with going along with what "they" say is persecuted and accused of being an extremist. I have nothing but respect for this guy and he deserves major props for not running away.

Being term limited and as popular as he seems to be, does anybody know if he didn't officially run for another term but won on a write in ballot, would it hold up? How did Bloomberg skirt term limits?

How did Bloomberg skirt term limits?

Spent his own money campaigning to get the term limits extended. Isn't it nice when billionaires run for office?

I agree with Sen Morse. IT'S TIME Sheriff Maketa UPHOLD the law. I suggest he and every other sheriff in CO OBEY FEDERAL MANDATES AND...........shut down the pot industry.
Which is really sad as i support medicinal mj, and total decriminalization, Nationwide of the shit.
HOWEVER the liberals WANT THE SHERIFFS to not cherry pick federal law. Great lets see how long it takes for them to change their tune. BUNCH OF CUNTS. with apologies to any of the female members of the board.

I hope Terry decides to run for another office. He has my support! He is one of the good guys. He was a great street cop and even better as an administrator. Morse on the other hand needs to be recalled.

Don't forget rounding up every single illegal alien and hauling them off to the border. None of that "my kid's a citizen you're breaking up a family" loopholes either.

I have contacted my local 2nd A lobbyist / NRA contact. We need to fight the marketing campaign, make no mistake this is a marketing campaign, labeling us as extremist. Here's what I asked:

Have the wizards at the NRA come up with a way to combat the ‘marketing term’ applied to us gun owners that the so-called left? As you know we are labeled ‘extreme’ and the Service Dog Media repeats it like a parrot.

Have they come up with a way to fight that term? We on the so-called right (we are actually Jeffersonian Left - they are classic right) get labeled all the time. Fat Cats, Rich, Extreme etc. Look at the last presidential campaign. So, have they come up with a way to to fight the marketing to low info voters that I can pass on?

This is outrageous!

"Democrats say that they will allow a salary bill to raise sheriff pay to go to the floor, but only if seven Republicans, many of whom oppose the pay bill on fiscal grounds, sign on as co-sponsors. So far, that has not happened. Maketa said that is a hurdle that the gun bills did not face."
"None of these gun control bills they passed required any Republican co-sponsors -- but for the sheriff pay bill, [the speaker] required seven Republican co-sponsors to put it up for a vote," Maketa said. "I'm sorry, but that tells the truth right there."
