Just wanting some clarification on how these new laws will effect our sport, and whether or not it is the end of the sport?

There will be some changes, but not the end of 3-gun in Colorado for sure.

Local will continue. The only major will be looking for a new home, possibly in NE, NM, or KS.

First of all, what Mark said.

My answer for this kind of thing always goes back to good ol' California. Go to a match there and see how many people are using 10 round magazines in their pistols or rifles. See how long you last with one before some guy you don't even know hands you a standard capacity mag for your rifle. It's where I learned the sport.

I know that the circumstances are different here and yes, big match (because there's only one) will be affected until we see how things are enforced and that's very sad. Luckily we're surrounded by states where you can hit a big one if you choose to do so.

Could someone please bring me up to speed on the new CO laws? I'm from Wyoming and haven't been down there in a few months due to work and school

Basically, there are 3 major changes is what I've read 1. Universal Background Checks 2. You have to pay for these 3. Rifle/pistol mag cap at 15 and shotgun at ??

When do these laws go into effect? Is there grandfathering, like would I get in trouble or have my shit confiscated if I (again, WY resident) come down to a match with 30 round pmags and/or 17 round M&P magazines?

Please forgive my ignorance, but it's been hard to keep up on.

Check the legal forum for exact answers but:

When do these laws go into effect? 7/1/2013 Is there grandfathering (YES), like would I get in trouble or have my shit confiscated if I (again, WY resident) come down to a match with 30 round pmags and/or 17 round M&P magazines? Don't know about out of state.

There are always prairie-dog/sniper matches!!

The last thing that would affect my time would be a rifle mag change.

Just seems to me the biggest difference will be open shotguns being limited more than anything?
