I found this great podcast that covers more of American history than I ever learned in school and I'm really enjoying it. (I found it on iTunes)
The Patriot's Pub (http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=43358)
It's three American History scholars in a round-table discussion format, going through the history of the Republic chronologically, beginning at the end of the French and Indian War. It's very detailed, a bit dry, and plagued by technical difficulties at the beginning, but gets a lot smoother as they go along. It isn't on anymore, but there are 155 episodes archived. The host lives on a mountain-top in the middle of nowhere and is running the equipment off his generator. Periodically he calls to his wife, "Oh serving wench! Bring me more ale!" To which you can hear her reply in the distance, "Yes, 'ma lord!"
