View Full Version : Where is the right's political offense?

All I see the Republican party doing about this gun control crap is playing defense. Why haven't there been any real efforts taken toward crafting major pro-gun legislation? Why has the right simply said things like "concealed carry could have stopped shooter X", and then they do NOTHING to make it easier for the good guys to be armed. Constitutional carry, maybe? Tax incentives encouraging concealed carry? Getting rid of the GCA or NFA? I feel like we need somebody in Washington, and at the state level that is willing to play hardball, the same way the left is doing to us. If we only play defense against the anti's, then we are bound to lose something, such as what happened here in CO. Do you guys think that if such legislation were introduced, it would stand a chance? Maybe just the message it sent would be beneficial, regardless of outcome.
Sigh. I'm in too bad a mood to take this one. Anybody?

It's generally a bad time to launch a major offensive when you're 4th and 40 from your own goal line. It's hard enough as it is to stop/kill bad legislation and you want the GOP to spread themselves even thinner by pushing more legislation that has no chance of going anywhere? Seriously?
I suppose you would have pushed Lee for one more charge across the wheatfields after Pickett got mauled.

THe offense's plan is already there in the form of the second amendment, we have to defend it. Anyone else?

Harry Reid had 60 votes in the Senate thanks to their theft of Al Franken's seat and illegal shenanigans to put someone in Ted Kennedy's seat after his death; Nancy Pelosi had control of the House until 2011 when she tearfully passed the gavel to John Boehner. Just when exactly did Republicans pass Obamacare?

Well think about it just a little and I'm sure you can come up with the answer.

Offense is not in the republicans nature.
In order to play offense you need the ball. To get the ball we need to unite the factions of the right and elect REPUBLICANS, and stop diverting votes to third parties. Once you get a solid majority, you can do things like AZ did with carry.
Once the party stops screwing the pooch with things like Maes/Tancredo, and we as a voting base elect Republicans, we can move the ball towards our side. Until, we're playing shorthanded.
PS: Stop voting third party, if I did not mention it already[Bang]
