I am buying my first AR 15 on Friday

Anyone have any advice before I buy one of the following.

Bushmaster Carbon 15 for $890 out the door.

Olympic with 16" barrel, detachable handle and front handle, laser sight(not sure what kind) for $1150.

Used Bushmaster XM 15 for $750.


I know that is not a lot of info, but the more I look online, the more I get confused. I have looked at the ones above at 3 different gun stores. Think I should buy new online? Or buy used.

I'd stay clear of the carbon15, I've heard of issues in the past.

Check out a Rock River if you can.

Or you can purchase a COLT for 850 and help a fellow board member.

i'd buy from the link kelly posted. granted its not a threaded bbl however that Colt bbl would sell to some AWB stater and you could get a regualr bbl with all the fixins

I'm not a fan of Olympic and I'd be leery of the Carbon 15.
