View Full Version : My New Girlfriend
Her name is Belle. She's a year old Brittany and did some hunting this Winter. Can't wait to get her out for some training.

I like that patio.
Oh, good lookin' dog, too [Beer]
Cute pup. I am considering a Brittany for my next dog. I like the ad in Gun Dog Magazine for the breeder that says "angels in the house, demons in the field".
Ahh man I got a Brittany! Great dogs!
Nice. I had a English Springer and she was a great dog. Not too dissimilar a breed.
That's awesome. Great looking dog!

She's a sweetie. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks everyone. She's a frigging sweetheart. Needs a little more "domestic" training. She starts our morning walks OK but after we've seen a few birds and dozens of rabbits she's so birdie she can't see straight. Have you guys heard anything about Godfather Gun Dogs as far as training is concerned?
Thanks for the complement on the porch. It was a cheep fix from Ikea.

I was gonna say the same, that patio looks awesome!
But alas, this is about your dog... she looks good. I told my GF this weekend "Sorry, babe, but you will never be as high on the totem pole as my dog, close, but not quite." Congrats Cthulhu! I hear Brittanies are great bird dogs! [Beer]

Try this experiment. Lock your girlfriend and your dog in the trunk of your car. Come back in 15 min and see who's more excited to see you.

Godfather GD is Ben Garcia, he has some great dogs. He is a real serious trainer, and may be a little harsh for a family dog. I would recommend finding a dog trainer who specializes in "training the trainer" and pointing breeds. That way you learn how to train your dog the way you like to hunt and you have a better bond with your dog. Good luck, one of the best dogs I have hunted with is a Britt.

I thought Steven Chang was the owner. Is it Hideaway Kennels your thinking of? In any case, it seems like they really focus on just hunt training. I was thinking it might be good to find a place to kennel her when I have to travel for work or go on vacation that could work on some field skills. If anyone has a suggestion I'd be happy to hear. I'm new to all this stuff and could use as much help as I can get.

my bad, I mixed the two up, Hideaway is Ben. I talked with Godfather when I was looking for a Brit but don't know anything else about them. The guy who trained my dogs is also in Elizabeth, he has a great kennel for boarding but his training is usually full. I will PM you his info, he is kind of low key.
