There might not be a provision in the Patriot Act (i'm not saying there isn't) but there is an Executive order that says the Gov can. So maybe, just maybe DHS was tasked with that job???

Whether it is real or not, does not really matter. The feds, under the socialist FDR seized gold, and even though they did not raid safe deposit boxes then, they still required gold to be turned in or face penalties. It happened before, it can happen again. Only a fool takes history for granted.
