Ok, is it even legal to carry one of these (camping, not shopping at Walmart)? Is there a length for fixed blades?

Anyone have a Colorado law page on that?[Flower]

There is not such thing as a law that says what you can do, only laws that say what you can't do. So if you can't find one, then it isn't against the law.

In other words, no, I don't have the specific law to show you.

Yea, but I'm sure there is specific law on sword carrying. Just as you can't have a folding knife over 3.5 inches. [Flower] Peace and Love! Ah, MeinGott I would like a Kraut Dagger when I'm naked in the forest!

Why do people carry guns camping? Mountain Lions, Bears, Rabid Deer, Bigfoots, Rabid Skunks, Crazed Porcupines, Mice, Weird Homeless people, Zombies.... because I can.... You gun nuts have no appreciation for naked camping with Nazi German Pokers. I mean, look at those things!! Way coooler than the gun-nut Redneck bumpkins I see with their open carry 45's[facepalm]

Everyone needs a $700 fingernail cleaner when camping?

Yea yea, I camp out in the middle of nowhere as far as I can get. And how much does a fancy pop-shooter cost? $800.00? $1200.00 for a fancy .45? Friggin gun-nuts, this is the sharpened steel forum! Lots of people here CC. Squirrels can be extreemely dangerous in the deep woods.

Are we being trolled? [Peep]

Where in my post did I mention a firearm? Read a few of my posts in the Sharpened Steel forum. You will see that I am far more than a "gun-nut".

I just fail to see what use a Nazi dagger has on a camping trip.

It would make a hell of a weenie roaster or tent stake.

Ah, well, you don't 'need' one. I did lots of backwoods hike-ins without one. I just see it as a dagger as a last resort if something attacks you, the pepper spray fails, etc. I don't carry a firearm. And if Bigfoot wants you, he just sneaks up within 30 ft, and does a 2.5 second dash. Your his! Dagger, gun, ain't make no difference.

I occasionally go about wearing my kilt, sporan and Claymore. I've had cops come up and ask questions.

Now if I were to have a high capacity sharpener..... that could be problematic.

Most municipalities have ordinances that you can't conceal carry anything with a blade longer than 3 inches. Basically you need to do due diligence to know rules where you are camping/not camping.

They do make these, but its way shorter, probably same company that made the military ones. If you have to stab a cougar or blackbear, you want the most length you can get, and even then your still in trouble. On the other hand, a good swing will take off its nose and give it second thoughts if you hit it just right. If they are old and hungry you are in big trouble. Bigfoot you would probably not see coming. Squirrels are going to be fast, but a good swing will cut them in half. Etc. Homeless bums, you just need to speak German loudly and act intimidating. Illegals doing illegal stuff, you need an AR...[Coffee]

Yea, I know that, (should be 3.5") Its not for in town, or downtown. Although....If its not concealed in the FORESTed areas, it shouldn't be a problem, but I need to know.

If you are reduced to a knife/katana/sword/machete/Nazi pig sticker against a bear/cougar, you have much bigger problems.
