Has anyone tried this powder on
.308 : 147, 150, 168, 175 gr
.223 : 55, 62

I woulds appreciate some input. I searched for variations on MR and 2000 on this forum and came up dry for this powder.
If there are already posts on this, I would appreciate the links.
I DID find several on other forums, but to me, there is nothing like getting data from the "horse's mouth" (rather than the other end [ROFL1])

I'm looking at trying to get the MR2000 to use for all the calibre/bullet combos I listed.
I understand it will not be optimum for ALL and will vary according to the weapon in which it is used.

I'm looking for a "decent" general purpose powder that is versatile enough to be used in both.
CRITERION
Metering ?
Temp sensitivity ?
Accuracy/repeatability
(Add your own criterion here)

I would also appreciate the "I will never use it again it because..." comments.

Thanks in advance.

alliant's load data is the place to start. Low side as usual.

here's another. Type in your powder in a search and all sorts of info pops up. BTW: I never use anyone's load data until i run factory info. Just because it works for them may not make it work , or safe for you.

Jim:

I have load data (and have been to the Alliant site as well).
From what I've seen, the powder (and the Alliant site) has load data for all I ask about EXCEPT 55 gr .223.

I'm guessing that I should be able to accommodate that with some trial and error.
I've typically gone a bit heavier (more powder) as the bullet gets lighter, but I always start low and creep up and start below the factory recipe (glad you reaffirmed this route, Jim).
(I still have both eyes and all 10 fingers to show for my patience in "creeping up" on a good load)

I'm looking for personal experiences of GOOD, BAD, or Indifferent .

Thanks.

Typically when a manufacturer doesnt list a caliber and load for a powder its because they do not recommend that powder for those specific calibers.
