I have a Fal upper that they did like 13 years ago for a shot show. It still looks great. Just like anything it is all in the prep.

I suggest wearing rubber gloves when prepping. He left that part out. Also, make sure you have adequate ventilation or respirator. This is an epoxy and can mess you up fast.

You can also accelerate the cure with a heat gun or UV bulb if you have them.

I assume too much. [Flower] Another thing. depending on what it is will vary the prep technique. Used items that have places that oil/cosmo can hide are the hardest but not insurmountable.
And others ya just blast/wipe/shoot.

I used it on my Saiga. Super easy, finish is durable as hell. I accidently hit with a Dremmel and it didn't even leave a mark.
Problem now is I don't like the color and I don't know how to get it off.

How do ya'll think it would hold up on a smart phone case I.e. otterbox? Contemplating an FDE job.
Im gonna do it. Im planning my 870. Not sure on a color.
Hurley it should do good just wont hold up on rubber

A dark grey would be pretty sweet on an 870, similar to what magpul is planning for the future.
Yeah I'd only apply it on the plastic portion. An FDE up against the black rubber would contrast well, or hell maybe even grey, decisions. Sorry to hijack.
No hijak it's giving me ideas

Jasco Premium Paint & Epoxy Remover will take it off.
I did DuraBake on an AR and I didn't end up liking the color (Coyote - way too light, like a sand color). It is durable stuff for sure, but like anything, it can and will wear off with constant handling and abrasion. I think next time I will go with Aervoe spray paint as it is easier to remove and reapply if necessary.
Not sure how expensive this stuff is, but a few more ideas would be Rustoleum "Appliance" or Gun Kote. Can be purchased at any hardware store ($~6.00) or Brownell's ($30.00), respectively.
Both will need heat cured. This can be done in any oven, but obviously, will need to be well ventilated.
Spray the gun - Note that different distances and heating the surface before hand can give the appearance of different texture too. (IIRC, this is called fogging)
Air dry for 2-4 hours.
Bake for 1 hour at 350-400 degrees F.
Take out and let cool. Bam.

I have used this numerous times. I generally sandblast before using it. I'll either park it first or use it as the only coating. I am absolute diehard for Duracoat. The finish always comes out great!
