I'm sure that you've heard about all of the problems with voter registration in Colorado that were reported in todays New York Times; dropping registered voters from the list of eligible voters, etc.

Well, my wife registered at a gun show in Colorado Springs back in July.

PROBLEM #1
She FINALLY recieved information for her registration last week claiming that her CO Driver License nmber was not on the form (but, it clearly was - I saw it) and that she had to re-submit her registration to be eligible to vote. She got registered the next day - just a couple of days before it was too late.

When she registered, she requested a mail in ballot which came in the mail today.

PROBLEM #2
Her first name is RAE. Her ballot just came in with her first name spelled RAY. Now, I've seen her worse penmanship and know that even at it's worst, she writes/prints very clearly. How the E became a Y is beyond me - unless it was changed intentionally (she did register as a Republican).

I went to the CO Secretary of States' web page to verify our registration - I'm all set, but her registration is NOT in her properly spelled name, it's in the RAY name. We are going to try to get this corrected tomorrow.

I encourage ALL of you to verify your voter registration by going to this web site:
http://www.sos.state.co.us/Voter/voterHome.do;jsessionid=0000qEFC8pBo9dm_0e24UP8p8h Y:1397to15i

Don't wait until you are at the polls to find out your registration has been removed or improperly submitted by some disgruntled "public servant".

My wife and I both cast our votes today via mail ballot, but this is a good reminder to all to not take anything for granted with all the fraud and abuse going on.
