View Full Version : Anyone See Video of Obama's Speech at the Denver Police Academy?
The Denver Post quoted Obama as follows:
"Part of the reason it's so hard to get this done is because both sides of the debate sometimes don't listen to each other," Obama said at the Denver Police Academy on Wednesday. "You hear some of these quotes: 'I need a gun to protect myself from the government.' 'We can't do background checks because the government is going to come take my guns away.' Well, the government is us. These officials are elected by you."
I'd like to see the video for myself - AND - I'd like to see a rallying cry built around his arrogant comment about the government and elected officials. While he is correct about this particular set of officials having been elected into office, his reminder should be repeated time and again as part of the run-up to the NEXT set of elections.
Obviously he's not listening to the average gun owners- I don't hear a ton of people say the government is the reason they need guns... even if it is, in fact, one of the many reasons some own guns. All I can really say is FBO!

In the quoted text from the speech, Obama was reminding everyone that *WE* voted these officials into office and the resultant legislation is a direct consequence of the electorate and *OUR* decisions - and he is absolutely correct. It was, in fact, your fault and my fault for these buffoons being voted into power and passing this inane legislation. *WE* are responsible - like it or not (and I damn sure do NOT).
While I doubt seriously that I will need to be reminded of this fact in the upcoming election cycles, it is worth being reminded of my role - and who better to steel my resolve than BO himself with his smug condescending demeanor?!? You see, the upcoming elections need to be more about the heretofore silent majority becoming politically active to repeal these laws and to pass protective 2A legislation. Future elections mean far more than merely casting one's ballot. It means conducting the due diligence to demand a candidate's position on issues such as repeal of these idiotic laws. It means actively working to encourage others to vote and to vote responsibly - that is, armed with information so that they may vote their own conscience rather than be led by the major media outlets. I have been remiss in the past and neglected my duty as a U.S. citizen. Casting a ballot is far from sufficient - and I want to hear BO reminding me of the consequences of my inaction.
THAT is why I want to see the video of his speech. I want to soundbite it as a reminder.
FWIW
I didn't see the speech, but I also don't look at my poo before flushing either.

Really? I look every time. Can be a great indicator of what's going on inside.

You're a weirdo...
I already have supreme confidence in the ability of whatever exits my colon to perform the duties of the POTUS more appropriately than our current leader. Don't need to know what it looks like?

I have a Denver LEO and his son work out at the dojo I attend and teach at. He said they really had a hard time getting the cops for the backdrop. Many outright refused when asked. They had to go down to recruits in the academy.

That smug asshole flies into town for the afternoon on the taxpayer's dime, screws up traffic all-day, uses a bunch of civil servants as political props, spouts a bunch of bullshit, then hops back on his plane to fly to some other place and screw up their traffic. Jagoff.
