I just saw this:

Colorado GOP (http://www.facebook.com/cologop)
Democrats are ramming through legislation this week that will make Colorado the first state in the nation to have single payer health care. The measure will also raise taxes on EVERY family to cover the $16 BILLION price tag.
And looking around found this:

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 13-002

SUBMITTING TO THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE STATE OF
COLORADO AN AMENDMENT TO THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION
CONCERNING THE CREATION OF A COLORADO HEALTH CARE
COOPERATIVE TO ENSURE ACCESS TO A STATEWIDE HEALTH
CARE SYSTEM THAT PROVIDES HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO ALL
PERSONS WHOSE DOMICILE IS COLORADO FOR ALL
HEALTH-RELATED ISSUES, AND, IN CONNECTION THEREWITH,
CREATING AN INTERIM AND THEN A PERMANENT BOARD OF
DIRECTORS TO ADMINISTER THE COOPERATIVE; REQUIRING THE
COOPERATIVE TO CONTRACT WITH HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO
DELIVER SPECIFIC HEALTH CARE BENEFITS; ASSESSING A SIX
PERCENT PAYROLL PREMIUM FROM EMPLOYERS, A THREE
PERCENT PAYROLL PREMIUM FROM EMPLOYEES, COMPARABLE
EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE PREMIUMS FROM SELF-EMPLOYED
INDIVIDUALS, AND A NINE PERCENT PREMIUM ON OTHER
SPECIFIED INCOME; ASSESSING PREMIUMS AT A LOWER RATE
UNTIL THE COOPERATIVE ASSUMES FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY
FOR HEALTH CARE PAYMENTS; PLACING A CAP ON THE AMOUNT
OF INCOME SUBJECT TO THE PREMIUMS; AUTHORIZING THE
BOARD TO INCREASE THE PREMIUMS IN SPECIFIED
CIRCUMSTANCES; AND REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF
REVENUE TO COLLECT AND TRANSFER THE PREMIUMS TO PAY
FOR HEALTH CARE SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH THE
COOPERATIVE.
And we continue along the path... The bold part doesn't even specify citizenship or legality of being here. We truly are Commierado if this shit passes! [Mad]

I would have said that until ILLEGALS get in-state tuition. I will no longer be surprised by anything this current body passes.

As for this, there will be lawsuits o'plenty if it passes, because it is bullshit, and we have Obamacare, so why do we need this too.

I don't read universal coverage as single-payer. It is on the way, and a key landmark, but there are a lot of stops yet.

AND A NINE PERCENT PREMIUM ON OTHER
SPECIFIED INCOME; I read this as any 1099 retirement income. They are drunk on the Koolaid.

We need a tax revolt. I haven't done any taxes yet but if there are any Obamacare forms or lines on my tax forms I will refuse to comply and/or leave the lines blank.

Oh thank God! But the thing is, they wanted to propose this to the voters... The results of that could be very scary.

It's dead, Jim. (http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/democrat-backs-off-universal-health-care-plan-for-colorado)

For now, anyway. I guess Senator Doctor Irene MD (who's a physician, by the way, in case you didn't know) decided that she didn't have the votes and that her party would get slaughtered at the polls.

It'll be back, they think healthcare is a right.

Yes. Just like gun rights, they keep pushing and pushing and chipping and chipping.
