So in my quest to improve my reload time with moon clips in my 625, I searched for a replacement for the Montana Gold 230 and Berry 185 HBRN. I found a new bullet. A 200 gn plastic tip and 45 GAP brass.
Off sandbags at 25 yards it holds under an inch and recoil is very mild with a small charge of Titegroup or N320.
I picked up a bunch of these for right at $200 per thousand plus shipping. I think they are a Hornady bullet, but sold as seconds by Midway. I went to order more a few days ago and they are now $400 per thousand... Glad I picked up 5K.
Being GAP brass I dont have to cry about small pistol primer brass. In fact, people give me their GAP brass because they are afraid of it.
Who knows, maybe one day I will shoot a critter with them in my Freedom Arms 454. Or make GM in USPSA revo instead of slumming in M.
